That is the perfect order! No more sawing. I've done I love inch boards. I put on a poplar log Friday and sawed some beautiful 18" wide inch boards. Enjoyed watching ya'll

Fun to watch that sawing job and you two working together. Thanks for making the videos. Mill set up very well with you being able to saw 4/4 dog boards. Am a bit envious of you getting to run that mill. Awesome good times.

Few sawyers use only the first dog. Saves a lot of time and hassle. I wore out a s'''load of Jeans keeping the last few cuts tight against the back head block. I envy you we only had 2 head blocks.. Ours was/is a Corley #8 left hand , made in 1956. 605 Minnie LP (113 HP. 56" F style blade. I enjoyed your video. Thanks.

What does that arm you grabbed on the first head block do at the 2:23 mark of the video? White pine is fine as long as it doesn't have too much sap in it or as FricknJeep likes to say Sticky Wood.
@AndruwsLumber
@AndruwsLumber 7 ай бұрын
That arm is an adjustment to compensate for the taper in the log. Pine is definitely sticky but it ain’t to bad. Thanks for watching

I love that old machine. Am I right in guessing, based on the flat belts, that the main part of the mill is from around 1930? How wide a kerf does the blade make. Thanks for sharing.

Someone said you need a top saw, when I worked in NH, we had 24 inch TS & used it maybe 3-4% not worth the trouble.
@AndruwsLumber
@AndruwsLumber 7 ай бұрын
Yea I agree and with that sawmill being a deluxe it’s wide and it will open up 40” and usually around here you’re not going to have very many logs bigger than that. But there definitely is some but I agree it’s not worth the trouble
