I have had a Piranha tooth bar on a Kubota L2800 since 2017. It doesn’t show essentially any wear in approximately 400 hours. I have no complaints and highly recommend it. Mine is not the pro version but for grubbing out brush and digging it is a game changer.

Hello sandy. That is a great addition for the tractor. Even having to replace a leading-edge plate is better than replacing the bucket because of wear. The split washer is also called a lock washer by some folks. It puts pressure on the nut to prevent it from backing off. Have good days!

I have been thinking of getting a tooth bar for the tractor bucket, but haven't seen these that you have. This is very impressive and I really like the aggressive tooth and that it has a straight edge to.keeping all four wheels on the ground gives you more pushing power. @@sawingwithsandyYes, cutting stuff out by the roots is the way to go, and that toothbar makes it easy. If you get a box blade, go heavy, ~1000lb and 6.5' or even 7' wide. For dirt moving or road maintenance or even busting ice off the driveway using a 3 or 4 of the scarifiers. Mine is a gannon off an old skip loader and will outlast me I'm sure.

Sandy we used to have old grass cutter blades and weld them to an older bucket but it worked a treat in the dirt of Scotland, mind you we used it mostly for cleaning the very large chicken sheds after the muck and shavings on the floor had been compacted by thousands of chickens, we had an old Massy Harris petrol engined tractor, absolutely no safety at all and no cab and the old metal seat which we had five or six paper meal bags folded up and sacks just to keep your bum warm in the winter, not a cabin not safety bar in sight, and we were just kids then I was around fourteen but started when I was able to reach the pedals, it was brilliant.

Piranha tooth bar is the way to go. I have one on my bucket. It will dig into hard clay dirt and rocky soil. The bite is good. My toothbar connects to the bucket differently than the five holes that your bucket did. The toothbar will also protect your bucket from getting a serious bow in the middle. Because of the rugged tooth pattern, you must watch when you dig down into a flat surface because it will take out a chunk of material without you noticing it. Just a slight forward downward angle will get those teeth to contact the surface material so make gradual angled digs that way you don't remove too much material on a asingle forward movement. Overall, the toothbar is essential for operators wanting to dig while moving forward. It's definitely worth the cost. Enjoyed a full-watch. 👍🏽🤠 11/4/23

I have one on my John Deere 318. When new, the teeth would cut roots! It will wear down a bit, but still strengthens the cutting edge a lot. The small lip on the bottom edge is helpful when fine tuning a gravel driveway. It does add the ability to carry more dirt, which could get heavy for the machine!

@gregwitkamp5583

Sandy the reason you have trouble and why you have to angle your bucket is because the underside of your cutting edge have slope or angel . which is cause because you have in the past worn the cutting edge that way . Its very common to do so when pushing snow. You will see with that new cutting edge if you tip you bucket to much its going to dig. so if you dont want the new edge to look like your old one keep it flat.. there will be a learning curve. Also if you keep some material in your bucket it will help keep it more stable because of the weight in it.
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy Жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video Greg. I’m hoping since the steep on this cutting edge is so strong, it’ll hold up to the digging and brush work I hope to do better than my stock Kioti bucket which I’m guessing is lesser steel

Damn, Sandy, that things more efficient than your rake or land plane!! I LIKE IT!! The bolts that hold it to the bucket... I'm guessing 1/2-13, but it's irrelevant. Cut off the excess part of the bolt sticking out of the nut, and then take the appropriate size die and redress the head of the bolts. If you don't, over time the exposed threads on those bolts will get messed up and you'll play hell getting the nuts off. Overall, it looks like a VALUABLE implement you've added to the tractor.

Morning Sandy, Like the idea of the aggressive tooth blade. Anytime you can add 4 to 5 inches to your cutting edge it gives you better angle of approach without adding more angle to the bucket, Kinda like adding extended ailerons to an airplane wing to create more lift for quicker takeoff. Interested to see how well it does in rocky soil and ripping roots out, I believe it will be a lot better. Weather up there looks like you will be seeing snow soon. Have some more sludge stay warm and dry. Cheers! John in chilly N East GA

I made a biodiesel reactor out of a 500 gallon propane tank and erected it on its end with the loader, it was too much for it and it warped the arms a bit. Its not bad but you have to do some prying to get the pins in now when you put it on. The bucket bent similar to yours from prying on things . Hi Sandy I’d like to know where you purchased the Piranha tooth bar please. I’m located in Eastern Ontario. Keep up the great work!

Nice rig, but to what end? Now the water and traffic will make rutting worse...Unless you dig space and fill with gravel?
@sawingwithsandy

This is just one example where I wanted to showcase how it worked on clay. I'll push the trail edges back and any water that falls will go to the edge of the trail instead of the middle where I drive

To me, that roadwork that you're doing is the job for a box blade or land plane. There's no way that I'm putting that much stress on my loader arms. A lot of people think that they can use their tractor as if it were a bulldozer, and then I see them complaining online afterwards about (whatever brand) sure does make some junk, because their loader arms bent.

Awesome video using the blade which I want to get it for my 78" bucket. Is the piranha blade available for the wide LS brand loader bucket?
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy 6 ай бұрын
Yes it is. Since it’s custom made with your bucket specs it will fit any tractor bucket

So you order the bar with the bolts already in it based on the measurements that you provided?
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy 7 ай бұрын
That’s right . Provide them with the measurements listed on their website and they custom make the bar to fit your bucket

If the steel is BHN 600 it may crack over time at the bolt holes

I'm not sure what the steel is specifically as it's not mentioned but it is stronger than AR500 is all I know

Would this have been easier with a leveling box? Reason I'm asking is I've purchased a leveling box, and still waiting for my tractor, a TYM T574HC. I've looked into bucket teeth, but with the box I'm not sure I need them. I've got a 1200' long gravel driveway which is why I got the leveling box.

Good question . I find the big difference is the angle you can apply with the bucket and down pressure. In this case I bet you could do a good job with a box blade as well

Nice...but is cutting up what looks like a perfectly packed down road material...with a nice crown.Sure hope water doesn't stand now.

To my way of thinking, loose soil and wet rainy weather equals mud. Better to have done this when soil is dry in heat of summer. But then it's your choice, not mine. For what it's worth.

That clay doesn't stand a chance now. We could have used something like that when we were doing some leveling on the ground here, since it's all clay. Maybe next time. Good vid. Thanks.

That clay sure is a pain to get through some days. I "m looking forward to widening out my trials as well with this thing. Think it'll do a number on the brush

It seems that without gravel you’re going to make a muddy mess with the soft clay. It seems a box blade would not disturb so deep yet level the pot holes better. The piranha blade does a nice job of disrupting the grade!
@sawingwithsandy
@sawingwithsandy Жыл бұрын
@bc8968. In this case I"ll push the edge of the trail back further for water to accumulate. It's a bit too expensive for gravel for me as I've got too many trails for that so I have to rely on sloping/ditches. This trail although it appears flat is actually slopped

I want to see the video when you start clearing the brush and shrubbery; I just might be ordering one for my tractor. You might want to talk to the manufacturer about giving you a commission on sales; sounds like you just brought them a lot of business.

Just to correct your terminology , those bolts aren't "recessed" , they are "countersunk" . A "recess" has no perimeter bevel . That's a wicked blade bro . Money well spent .
