That was awesome that your Dad was able to be there to help get those beams up. One extra set of hands can make a project ten times easier, and you get to spend some time with Dad as well. Glad you had a good weekend.

Howdy Sandy- good to see the snow is having mercy on you. Glad your Dad was there to give you a hand with getting the beams up. Looking forward to seeing the rafters going up. Take care and stay safe and warm. God bless

A self leveling loader would have made that process a little less stressful. I'm glad that you got that done without any mishaps. BTW, I looked up sketchy in the dictionary - there was a picture of you with the beams on top of the IBC totes being lifted up in the air!! I hope that you can get a roof on before the white stuff starts to fly. Thanks for bringing us along
@sawingwithsandy2 күн бұрын
Yeah would've been nice with that self-levelling loader for sure. If you think that's sketchy you should see what I do off camera haha

I have used a I beam as a jib. Locked in the bucket, tied and anchored with straps. Hook on the end allowed me to move, roof trusses kept away from cab. Everyone uses what they have, glad too see it’s coming along

Thanks Roger. I scratched my brain for a while thinking whether it would work and I think it's about the best I can come up with with the equipment I've got.

That was a master class. Well done. Nice to watch after 6 hrs on the tractor moving snow and another hour pulling neighbors truck from the ditch. We got 20 inches of the white stuff overnight and another 5 during the day. Ten minutes south got nothing. I miss those warm and sunny November days already
@sawingwithsandy2 күн бұрын
It's been a wild weather day out there for sure! I'm looking forward to what is coming but am worried that the only piece of equipment that will benefit is my snowmobile haha

I regret not getting my sled in the shop for it's annual fire up. Didn't expect this mess but should have known. My atv won't do well enough with the depth . So much to do, so many challenges thrown in. Love this life. Got the fire going and the house is warm.

great idea using the IBC totes to get the height, we built a new barn over the summer and used the tractor folks to lift all the beams in place

Quality, you know it’s going to be good when it has a disclaimer😂. Nothing wrong with that Sandy, using what you have to hand and risk assessed with common sense. I like to watch those kind of operations. She’s going to be a bute. All the best.

It's going to be a heavy built shed for sure. It's getting up there in height though. I figured I didn't ever want to feel like it was cramped.

Anyway Great job on progress ( or as you north of the border pronounce it) Pro-Gress. Hahahahaha Stay warm and be safe . Cheers
