SAWTOOTH LAKE TRAIL AND ALPINE PEAK: BEST HIKE & SUMMIT IN IDAHO’S SAWTOOTH MOUNTAIN RANGE

Sawtooth Lake and Alpine Peak are easily two of the top destinations in the Sawtooth Mountain Range of Idaho. Alpine Peak is one of the easiest peaks to conquer in the Sawtooths, which makes it such a perfect addition to the hike up to Sawtooth Lake. Travel nearly 13 miles out and back while meandering through beautiful canyons and past gorgeous alpine lakes to the top of the Sawtooth Mountain Range. The real fun begins once you make it to Sawtooth Lake. Another 1500 feet in elevation sits Alpine Peak. Create your own trail up through the steep rock field to the ridge line and have fun on a short ridge walk to the summit. 360 views include the entire Sawtooth Range, Stanley and neighboring Cloud Range. Sawtooth Lake is a great day hike in itself, but if you're up for more adventure to a relatively easy peak, keep on going! You will reach Sawtooth Lake in 5 miles with an elevation gain of 1800 feet. To Alpine Peak is a total of 6-7 miles with an elevation gain of 3300 feet.

Goat Lake in my opinion is the easier of the two , although it does take some route finding. Both are difficult in their own way. June should be clear of snow as they get a TON in the Sawtooths. Definitely go check out Redfish Lake area as well👍🏼. There are some great hikes in that area (Bench Lakes) and the Redfish Lake Resort is cool! I’d love to know what you think once you’ve hiked the area😁

Great footage! Looked a bit sketchy getting to the summit, class 2, 3? The Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho are on my list to hike and backpack someday. They're definitely nothing like the Sawtooth Mountains on the North Shore in Minnesota. P.S. Does your wife have a sister or girlfriend who's single and "killing it" at work and likes financing Western mountain adventures? ;-)

Nothing more than 3 for sure, the ridge walk had some hairy spots but we felt pretty safe. Tons of backpackers out there! We’re trying to convince Sloane to backpack but she’s not quite sure about it yet. 🤣😂, no sister, just a big bearded brother🤣. I appreciate you watching👍🏼!
