It is true that there are infinities that are bigger than others, but the natural numbers and the rational numbers are actually same in size. There exists a bijection between the two sets which proofs this. But the infinity of the real numbers is bigger than the one of the natural numbers. One can show, that there exists no bijection between the set of the real numbers and the set of the natural numbers. If you think about, Blackbeard mentioned that he wanted Ace to join his crew cause he needed his power. When Ace died, Blackbeard sent one his generals to retrieve the fire fruit. The fact that Blackbeard has interest in the fruit shows its important. Also, I think Blackbeard represents the God of Earth, since he had an interest in wanting Whitebeard's devil fruit.

I think that could be explained by how Luffy’s Zoan, being a mythological human, could have a different set of rules. His forms like the Gears could be limited due to naturally taxing uses of Nika’s powers. And as for healing? Idk looking back Luffy has had some ridiculous recovery from extreme wounds.

So turns out Luffy didn't come up with these gears by his sheer imagination and ingenuity. These gears that he has to physically activate by using his rubber body in a creative way to initiate these new forms, are actually just the basic and advanced transformations of his new mythical zoan fruit that he actually simply discovered but he things he come up with them... But in reality his comment about "finding a way to be you so I won't lose my friends" is completely contradictory (not for Luffy because he doesn't know) but for us readers we know and now the fruit retcon creates character, theme and dialogue contradictions that allow we the readers to go back throughout the story to see new plot holes and contradictions with the new information we have now and to cone to different conclusions now that help open these contradictions and plot holes!

And even now, the limits of Nika’s abilities are still largely unknown and grounded in the realm of what rubber can do. So “hybrid forms” are totally up in the air. But something like Gear 2 or 3 are totally not things that could be classified as such. Heck even 4 seems like a stretch.

Completely agree regarding new power ups to maintain tension and stakes. This does serve to undermine previous parts of the story imo though. Take Whitebeard, for example. He was meant to be the 'World's Strongest Man' but supposedly none of the admirals (or any other marines for that matter) needed to use awakened abilities at Marineford. These new ceilings highlight how the power system in OP has never been fully developed which is frustrating. That said, it's been 25 years so I guess it was inevitable.

If that's true hasn't Kizaru had his fruit in awakened form since his introduction to the series? Being able to transform into or move at the speed of light at will suggests that for me. I do see him having issues against Blackbeard in the future given the Yami Yami no mi could put Kizaru in a position where there is no access to light which I think his fruit is very much dependent on. I'm sure Oda will come up with an interesting way of showing us what Kizaru has in store (he rarely looks stressed in the series. If he feels overpowered in the next confrontation you can guarantee he will show the next level of his devil fruit's capabilities).

What are other peoples expectations of Logia awakenings?I know we haven't seen the full power of a Logia awakening but I thought they showed us a hint of it in Punk Hazard and how it permanently changed the island. Same thing with green bull and changing Wano. So I'm really not expecting anything too different from what we have seen so far.

The amount of people who have terrible reading comprehension or just full on don't pay attention to things is reaching new levels. the Mero Mero fruit is not just using the opponents lust against them, it is cupid's ability to force people with weaker wills to fall head over heels for the user as well(this is why the people who have it used on them are all going absolutely crazy for her even more so than Sanji when he hasn't seen a girl for 2 years) The ability Slave Arrow is very clear that if you are hit regardless of having lust for Hancock or not you turn to stone, even if it hits an inanimate object, that object turns to stone. The fruit artificially increases lust or adoration to the point of falling head over heels, being stoned(lovedrunk) or overwhelmed by cuteness/beauty.

Kizaru has failed once in eliminating the SH's back in Sabaody. He knows that this crew has a habit of defying the odds. I think he doesn't want to repeat that mistake.

Lucci was one of the only opponents to make Luffy give up. That how crazy he was. Usopp had to pick him mentally. I love that fight. One of my favorites fights in anime so it kinda crazy to see the second go round Luffy defeat Lucci so easily. But at least Lucci got back up.

I think greenbull is actually an ally of Wano, he regenerated the landscape, took out (killed or took prisioners) the two higher comanders of Kaido and warn the shogun about the need to protect himself, the thing with Shanks was just a bluff. Also, I don't think Im has a DF, s/he will rather ally with Blackbeard or similar. Also, I think the users of so-called godly DF are humans representing and element or other being, but not the being itself. Finally, I think that an example of awakened logia DFs is the current landscape of Punk hazard, meaning that an awaked logia has the ability to change the enviroment permantely. This could very well explain the eternal daylight of Enies Lobby and the frezeer below mariegois, where the giant strawhat is.

I do think that we already know what awakened logia do... they permanently affect their surroundings in multiple ways (temp, climate, vegetation..). Basically what Paramecia does but on a higher level. Punk Hazard? Now, the execution might be the key difference: Paramecia users do it themselves around them, while Logia might separate a part of themselves and that part continues to affect the surrounding no matter of the users state, remotely affecting its surroundings.

With all this talk about devil fruits and awakening, let’s not forget that haki transcends all. As broken as Gear 5 is and probably logia awakenings, haki can ultimately decide the battle. I would not be surprised if Garp or Roger defeated awakened paramecias, zoans, and logias.

W, if im not mistaken, that statement only came from kaido, and it was just his opinion. It was never stated by Oda/vegapunk or anyone else whos opinion could be taken as the ultimate truth. I mean yea Kaido has experience and all but he never went up against awakened light, magma, or gum gum fruits (prior to luffy) to have his opinion be taken as fact.
