What manipulatives do you recommend? I'm looking at saxon math 2

That's a personal decision. If cost is a concern, I would start with what you already have and then migrate to items if and when your child starts to struggle with a concept. Otherwise, buy them piecemeal about two weeks before a new chapter/unit/topic is introduced. Or, buy it all in one swoop. :)
