It's not a fit everyone's physiology, but the double lip embouchure is an option. (works for me)

Right, I'm learning but Matthew, saxophone studies, play with double embouchure but "whistle" shape, no teeth touch either lips or mouthpiece! Very difficult for a lot but he doing it for decades and produces a biggest sound I ever heard.

when you get to the point where you physically understand your air column, embouchure doesn't matter all that much between different saxophones (atleast, just for producing sound, of course it's gonna vary for producing a GOOD tone)

Why bite a Mouthpiece? It is a form of musical self-harming. Teeth achieve nothing but inhibiting flexibility in both lips. You only do it because your teacher when you were young, to young to question, told you to do it. A double lip embouchure, no teeth, is only way to go. Throw these crutches away please, and stop teaching it to those who know no better

I have to disagree with you on this one. There is not only „one right embouchure“ out there. Of course double lip has its advantages, as has every embouchure. It depends on your physiology, playing style and the music you are into, altough one can switch to different embouchures, it only takes time to adapt to. I also think you misunderstood „biting the mouthpiece“ with having enough pressure on the mouthpiece and reed from below and from the sides of your mouth. Those are two very different things. It is all about balance…

Whatever works, everyone is built differently. Double lip for me. As a bonus, no mpc savers needed.

Might be being small minded here but when grown men pose like this with an alto sax it just looks stupid. The alto looks a bit toy ish. Do you ever see serious career musicians pose like this?? Of course time change etc, but could you imagine Bird, Hodges, Desmond, Woods and the like posing like this. Embarrassing really
