As a saxophonist who literally just stopped playing the Creston sonata like 10 minutes ago, this is too accurate. Especially the blasting of a low Bb, there's something relieving about it.

As a saxophonist I agree but you forgot the part where your reed breaks and you have to get a new one ready. Playing new reeds SUCK. (Plastic reeds are awesome).

@@hectormackie3654 Well technically there’s actually five. With any of the three main right hand keys working in combination with a b natural fingering to flatten by a semitone. Though, many people don’t know about it cause it’s hardly ever shown in manuals and there isn’t really a practical use that the other fingerings can’t do better. Anyways, have fun playing.

Originally I was gonna do Tableaux de Provence for this, but I’m working on Creston too so I changed it to that. How’d the audition go?

@@asharpnotbflat i gotcha. i worked on tableaux for a little bit but i eventually moved on from it. sadly, i didn’t have much motivation to play it at my best. about my auditions: they went well! i actually passed all of them and i’m attending florida state in the coming fall!

@@asharpnotbflat i was gonna play the tableaux but I decided to do a soprano solo(Fantaisie by Bedard) because I wasnt feeling motivated on alto. Beautiful piece tho. And i will never play Creston sonata because its all this one sax plays and it reminds me of him😭

DUDE. I’ve been searching for the name of this song for like a DECADE. I played it my senior year in high school for a competition - discarded it immediately after it sucked away 3 months of my life but then could never remember the name years later! Lol! Hilarious video. Thanks for posting.

Whoever doesn’t spend most of their practice time trying to straighten the reed even though it doesn’t need to be straightened, is either perfect or keeps the reed glued to the mouthpiece

as a saxophonist this is very accurate. but there are 3 fingerings for Bb (4 if you're counting low) and the easiest one is the bis key

I remember in band, I used to get so mad at bass clefs, my teacher tried to force me to play Trombone but I insisted on Trumpet because, and the exact reason why, "It's loud, and I like drawing Treble clefs"

As a half? Saxophonist lol, this is accurate! I started playing alto sax for jazz band in I think December of 2021. My director called me out and told me to play. I originally play flute and piccolo, with no jazz experience, the change was a bit of a challenge but I’m glad I did it for jazz band! Still play the other my main instruments for symphony band, and other things.
