Do you really want to tie the throat positions with the control of the overtones. You should play bugle calls on the flute as the throat positions that are needed to accomplish this transfer directly to the sax

Hi Robert, Thanks for your comment. I only used the flute to demonstrate the harmonica series because I thought that it is easier to see the flute simply as a piece of tuning. Achieving the harmonic series on the sax also requires throat shape changes too. Sorry if I confused you.

@@saxexpress You didn’t confuse me I’m trying to tell you there’s a better exercise for learning throat positions if you play both Sax and Flute if you do it on the flute and play all the bugle calls like reveille, and taps you will learn the successful path is to hear the overtone in your mind, and then setting your throat and tongue in the position that would produce that note if you were whistling. It is quicker than starting on the sax

Thanks for the comment. If your high notes are flat it maybe an embouchure issue especially if the lower notes are in tune. How far is the mouthpiece on the neck?
