Man this brings back memories of college. The dorms I stayed at had like, the most basic cable ever, and the only music channel(back when people watched music videos on tv 😂) was some weird side MTV channel for indie music and this song was in constant rotation. It made me fall in love with SA at the time, and then by the grace of god Say Anything actually performed at our campus and it was free to students! That was over 10 years ago at this point. Some of the best times of my life will be associated with this song/the In Defense of the Genre album ☺️

Say Anything is amazing background music for writing. The fact that Max Bemis has bipolar disorder is especially inspiring--he clearly uses his despair and paranoia and mania to brilliant effect in his art, which is probably the highest good that can come of such an illness.

Max was Jewish when Say Anything began, but "converted" to Christianity around the time he married Sherri I believe. He now calls himself somewhat of an agnostic Christian. In truth it doesn't even matter. The music's great and he isn't trying to press religion on anyone. Rock on.
