I had really bad brainfog when I was around 15 years old. Like severe case of brainfog. Couldn't remember much. Thinking was such a struggle. But as of now. I don't have it anymore. This is what I've done (sorry for the long read): - Sleeping more; I started sleeping around 8 - 10 hours instead of my regular 5 - 6 hours. Those couple hours make up such a huge difference in your energy levels. This way, learning and thinking wont be such a hardship. Sleep deprivation is a serious matter. - Stop social media; I stopped social media like TikTok, Instagram and all the other crap they have now-a-days. When you watch too much social media, your memory will clog up. You probably notice when you go to sleep you have like a million songs playing in your head. Well that's because of that. I went cold turkey, and I highly recommend you do too. My sleep has been very peaceful, despite my stress. - Stop over stimulation; stop stimulation yourself by doing "fun" things. I'm not saying that you should completely deprive yourself from any fun activities. But if those activities don't benefit you, then you should really reconsider what you're doing is really useful to you. I know most of us including me like video games. But they are a really big time consumer, and really turn you into a zombie. I believe they have been the cause for my brainfog. - Stop short-term content(THIS IS IMPORTANT); try to focus on more complex and lengthily content. This could be a book, fiction or non-fiction. As long as it requires you to fully understand what's going on. Or a documentary. Try to grasp something that takes effort and has you sitting down for a long time. This way your focus will increase by so much. I'm able to sit down for hours now just absorbing information. - Process more information in your head; when you learn a new topic. Try to process this as much as you can in your head. Explain it to imaginary people. Pretend that they are asking questions about this topic. This way you know if you fully understand what you've learned. There are probably some other things I can mention. Maybe if anyone is interested I could make a video on how I not only, recovered from brainfog but also became fairly intelligent in a relatively short time. If you have questions let me know! :)

No joke about the exercise. If I can walk slowly several times a day my brain fog is reduced a lot. Long Covid sucks and forcing a slow walk is hard with MECFS. I noticed early on that my body was burning through vitamins and minerals that support the immune system. I began supplementing so I would not crash as much. I then started cramping and found my electrolytes were out too. I wish this video had been around a year or two ago, everything said is spot on, like managing histamines in the diet... that low inflammatory approach is very helpful. I had an improvement in the last month, for the first time in two years, I bleed normally. It was very disconcerting to not bleed when being cut. I have not used any blood thinners in the past eight months so this is the first step in the right direction I have had in this Covid journey.

What helped me most with brain fog beside a keto diet, alpha lipoic acid and b vitamins was acetyl-l-carnitine. When I started taking this I had no clue it might help with that i took it to help with neuropathy. I'm a software engineer and I was basically at a point where I figured I would have to look for different work since this brain fog which I had most of my life had gotten to a point where my brain just couldn't do it anymore. But after starting acetyl-l-carnitine in a short period of time my brain started working better than I ever remember. I also started taking CoQ10 later and that seem to have a great affect on my nerve health also. this was at 65 I just turned 66.

I always had neck problems! Brain fog, food sensitivities, pseudo allergies. No one knew what was wrong with me. So many doctors. Turns out: Pinched vagus nerve! For 15 years!! can even lead to leaky gut, which I do have! Maybe someone reads that and can benefit.
@Dolphin_4574 ай бұрын
@florianwurm4220 Hi. I know it can be very frustrating not getting the proper diagnosis to many conditions. Wow, finally, a pinched vagus nerve for 15 years. Yes, because the gut-brain-axis involves the vagus nerve, a pinched vagus nerve can cause GI problems, like a leaky gut or even cause heart arrhythmias after eating or drinking--due to the vagus nerve involvement in both the gut and the heart. So, did the doctors treat your pinched vagus nerve and relieve some of the conditions you mentioned above? Thank you for sharing your story and feel better. Best wishes.
@johnmorgan74594 ай бұрын
@florianwurm4220 I might have this. How did you fix it?
@Dolphin_4574 ай бұрын
@johnmorgan7459 Hi.. you know, first, I never had brain fog like what the video is about. I was obese in 6/2022 and lost over 90 lbs by going on the ketogenic lifestyle and one meal a day fasting. What I inherited was a MTHFR-C677T polymorphism or genetic mutation, heterozygous. 30 to 50% of the population has this very common variant. They usually have methylation problems due to vitamin B9 (folate), B6, and Methylcobalamine B12 deficiency. And high homocysteine levels. So all I have to do is eat leafy greens ( kale, Arugula, broccoli, Brussels Sprouts) and take methylated B Complex vitamins. I feel fine and asymptomatic. As far as having cardiac arrhythmias or palpitations for a few minutes after I eat or drink, I know it's the vagus nerve that is causing it because it innervates both the gut and the heart. So I don't do anything about it. It doesn't really bother me. I hope your doctors were able to treat your pinched vagus nerve and your symptoms. Have a good day.

It's a long story, a lot of just suffering through it, I tried working out a lot but exertion made it worse, eventually I went keto not really knowing what I was doing but cutting out all sugar and processed foods and carbs cuz I knew it was the right thing to do, and after a couple of months of that and losing weight I discovered carnivore and went on a strict meat only diet and lost 45 pounds, I was at 200 which was way too much for me as a thin bone 138 lb from early twenties right on through till grad school in the thirties, so all in all I would really say going carnivore made the difference, eat all the meat I can stand at night, one meal a day, comad as I call it (carnivore one meal a day) and beef works the best, although I still eat any other kind of meat including processed meat, and if I get hungry for a snack I eat bacon and eggs, it's indescribable how well I feel now compared to what I used to, I used to walk 2 miles a day and worked out at the YMCA gym but I never lost any weight until I went on a meat only diet, now I'm running during about 40% of my walk of 2 miles every morning, first time I've run in over 20 years, I wish I had discovered the carnivore diet long before now, I'm 70 years old and counting, thank God!when it comes to long covid and vaccine injury which in my mind are pretty much impossible to distinguish between, the key is do not exert yourself even a little until you can build yourself up but the key for me again was carnivore@@RichardClutterbuck-zm5rb

I just wemt through covid... which made me somewhat delusional while in bed... I'm in recovery mode, have no motivation. I have always had sleep issues. Getting to sleep, staying asleep. I have to deal with anxiety, chronic depression. When I get 8+ hoirs of sleep, I'm a completely different human. I WILL NOT take pharma drugs. I am very sensitive to all drugs. When a youth experimenting with illegals, I'd do half of what the peers did and easily be twice as high... was the source of much ridicule. I went through every anti-depressant there is, and every single one was not only useless, they made things worse. What worked best was a gym membership. I still work out, and will once the covid residue subsides, and a modicum of motivation returns. I appreciare your supplement recommendations. I do take supplements, and have for decades. I'm just beginning choline sup's. I need motivation. Now retired, I've so much to do, I've lists of some rather major projects. At least I'm reasonably fit. Good video.

I keep a bottle of water by my bed so I can drink before going to sleep and when I wake up. Extending the hours of sleep has made such an immediate difference, instead of getting up at 4.30 a.m. Just a few more has helped overall.

I am so happy to have found your videos!!! I have been watching them with a note book diligently. So informative. THANK YOU. I have been try to help my son and myself. But my Son has Autism and ADHD AND wrnt through 3.5 years of intensive chemotherapy. He says he wishes he could focus more so he could be smart. Broke my heart. So ive been researching Methylene Blue. If Methalene Blue was used to help in brain trauma could it potentially heal? Or is it only works when you use it? I have asked our oncology team many times about alternative help/ supplements and they say they don't know anything about these things. 😔

Sauerkraut every day. One tablespoon. Fixed my heavy duty brain fog within 2 weeks after one and a half miserable years.
@flame77107 ай бұрын
could be due to the positive effect on the gut microbiota, which in turn is shown to affect the gut brain axis in many ways. gut inflammation/gut leakage often leads to brain inflammation and bbb leakage. however one needs to be cautious if already disbiotic since the probiotics from the sauerkraut then also can contrubute to the chaos and make it even worse.

I had it even 30 years back when I wasn't looking at the screen so much. There is a connection between the gut and the brain. Should be looking at the gut area.

First, make sure the issue isnt insufficient sleep. I feel like I go from barely getting by to Einstein depending on if ive gotten at least 8 hours sleep. Stay away from any screens at least two hours before bed and learn to love reading again. Read as if your elementary classroom is competing for a pizza party based on how many books you've read.

I profusely thank Dr for technical matter more to the fulfillment of commner like me. I neglected cheek ulceration for nearly 6 months as I was suffering trouma of losing mum and deep depression my daughter suffered due to discontinuence of engineering. I was out of focused before realising I suffered 3 rd stage cancer. My cheek ulceration was chopped inside with skin support from shoulder skin. I sufferd due to lack of coordination and guidance by Dr who did chemotherapy on 7 schedules. About 10 limp nodes removed while on operation. Radiation affected right ear while trouma ( from brain I suppose) on both ears felt with conitue subdued sound. May be generated from brain. Any sudded deep thought on a suject give the sound. I acceped the sound as part of life which gave relief with interludes. I was suggested multivitamins and annual review for 5 years. No body said about brain fog. I just write so much as caution to other readers, so that they don't unduly suffer self neglect. Thanks Doctor. I studies bare foot walking as part of earth science which help disorder recovery of brain.

Brain fog feels like a blank screen. Like you were "dropped" into your body all of a sudden and you have no idea of what's happening and what it all means. In my case I don't try to remember because my brain is not there to help me remember - my brain doesn't know how to remember, if I could make my brain remember, I wouldn't be in that state. You're in a state of "What's next?" You lose track of context. You could be in the car and suddenly you don't know why or where you're going, which city you're in, which exit you gotta take, if you passed it already or not, what do the pedals in your car mean...this all can happen in 5/6 seconds and then go away. You just keep driving hoping that it will all come back, but at that minute you don't know how it will come back! Because "remebering" is not something that you know how to do. ( This is my personal case, the 3 or 4 times this has happened to me)
