I purchased a new Limited model in 2010 as a 2011 model. Not much has changed since then which is a good thing because this formula works well. I gave it away to my parents in 2014 to help them out when their 15 year old first generation Toyota Sienna died. They still have it and the only thing that went wrong for over a decade was the alternator and some rust build up on rear hatch (covered under warranty). If Toyota makes an electric version I’ll be the first in line to buy one.

I don’t feel the depreciation data supports the current climate as we have been looking at used 5th gen 4runners and it’s crazy. Not as crazy as used 200 series Cruisers right now but wow, we ended up getting on a list to buy a 22. The dealerships pre sell pretty much all of them they can get into the lot where we are. The new one made sense VW paying mead retail for a used one with 60k.

Why waste your time being on a list? Look up dealerships around the country. You will find one. Make your offer. Fly and go pick it up and drive home. I am waiting for the new body style before I buy my own brand new 2023 or 2024 TRD ORP.

So what are the Cons??? The main one being...No boot space after 3rd Row.🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@everymandriver2 жыл бұрын
Reasons Not to Buy the Toyota 4Runner - 1. The Dated Design. Both the exterior and interior haven't changed too much over the years. Some 4Runner fans may be happy about this. There's an old-school charm and familiarity that some drivers may prefer. For anyone looking for something fresh, new or modern, the old-school designs may be disappointing. 2. The Plastic Interior. It has a well-designed interior. It's quite comfortable and all of the displays and controls are ergonomic and intuitive to find and use. The fit and finish are excellent. The downside here is that the materials are far from what you might find in a luxury SUV. There's a lot of plastic everywhere. Some drivers may consider this a cheap look and feel for such an expensive SUV. 3. Rough Ride Quality. The 4Runner offers truck-like performance and utility features. Unfortunately, it can feel like driving a truck too and not in a good way. This SUV may not be for everyone. The ride quality might feel a bit rough and unrefined for some drivers.
@gardenst43982 жыл бұрын
@@everymandriver The Cons you mentioned are all acceptable typical of Toyota and thats what you get for 40k. But luggage space after 3rd row for all Toyota Lexus even the latest Sequoia is totally unacceptable / pathetic..... Toyota designers think their suv can carry 8 people but send their luggage via UPS or FEDex😝😝😝 There is not even space to keep 2 cabin trolley bags after 3rd row....after spnding USD80k upwards for Lexus LX GX LandCruiser etc😳😳😳😳 They dont have now a SUV with boot space after 3rd row....worlds largest AutoMaker....shame on you Toyota😝😝😝😝😝

@josephsantangelo28012 жыл бұрын
@@georginachang7877 the leg room for first and second row passengers in both vehicles is about the same. And overall the GX feels bigger. The biggest difference is the cargo area. The cargo area is a little bigger in the 4Runner.

What is interesting about 4Runner buyers is that anybody who buys it always upgrades something on it there by adding their total cost of the vehicle. On average, people spend an extra $5,000 to $10,000, to get it to the way they want it to be. Why always spend more money on an already expensive vehicle?

I am a long time fan and owner of Toyota trucks dating back to 1982. I think 4Runners are excellent vehicles. That said, the current 4Runner is in desperate need of a hybrid power train for additional power and improved mpg. The baby puke color combination of this 4Runner w the 20” wheels is horrendous. It won’t look good at the mall and the huge wheels are useless off-road. You’re making a huge mistake if you drop $50+K on this sport model.
