Say No To Struggle Love | Stop Accepting The Bare Minimum
In this video we I will share my thought on what Tyler Perry said on the Keep It Positive, Sweetie podcast. I explain why his words are beneficial to feminine women and how it will prevent you from attracting a true provider and protector man. Let me also know your thoughts?

I agree 100% with everything you said, Urania. This is my EXACT situation. I REFUSE to accept less in order to find love. Why should I and other black women decrease ourselves after everything we have been through??? We worked hard to get where we are. Black men as a whole need to step up and better themselves to RISE to the occasion. DO BETTER BLACK MEN!! And SHAME ON YOU Tyler Perry.

This is so true. Why is it men are told they deserve the best 10/10 women, even if they are average or even low value themselves, but women have to “lower our standards” or “be realistic”. It’s such rubbish. Men are so used to being allowed to be average, while women have to be exceptional, but then we’re punished for outshining them. Step it up, gentlemen.

Nah, I love this one but let’s keep this femininity going as per usual. Those relationship channels can be so controversial. I love that she’s helping women to focus on themselves by building their lives and be wise in doing so. I’m in an hypergamous marriage for 19 years now, and her content is nourishing for women 😃. I’m 39 years old now but there’s always more to learn in womanhood.

This video is such a gem. I find it really silly when a man asks a woman to marry her, but he hasn't even gotten his life straight yet. Why would a woman say yes to a man, and take it to the next level with a man who hasn't yet proven to her he has what she needs (emotionally, financially, loyalty wise, maturity wise etc.). Thank you for reminding us to use our heads before opening our hearts.

The bible says do not be unequally yoked. That’s not just spiritual and/or financial but it’s about character, morals and values. Tyler Perry is clearly talking out the side of his neck because his Netflix movie, Fall From Grace shows exactly why this kind of dynamic never works! Great video Urania, glad you spoke on this because struggle love is so destructive and it’s rampant in the black community.

Struggle love is his bread and butter. He needed that woman who would accept that view, when he was living out of his car. But if he found her? Realistically, what are the chances that she would be around and "good enough" for his current lifestyle after the struggle?

I dated someone who was unequally yoked and he convinced me to be with him because he loved me. I am educated, active military at the time and he said I should accept him. He would try to make me feel bad because I didn’t want to be with him. He had no money, didn’t take care of himself and was consciously underdeveloped. I felt so horrible dating him, I broke it off and was extremely happy.

Hi Urania, my name is Sabine and I live in Toronto, Canada. I totally agree with what you are sharing in this video. I am really sick and tired of this rhetoric about black women having to accept the bare minimum as if what's best was too good for us. We, as any other women, also DESERVE a great partner who will love us, cherish, treasure us, provide for us and protect us. I refuse to accept the crumbs, I want the cake, the icing and the cherry on top. And who said that our partner should be black. We can date any man we want as long as he is loving, caring, respectful and has a great character. I deserve the best that the world has to offer and so do all of you. Sabine.

You are spot on Urina! I totally agree with the fact that lowering our standards instead of getting the man to upgrade his standards is ridiculous! Are we as a society should encourage, emphasize, and enhance that a man strives for greatness? I have no problem with sharing bills, responsibilities with my man/mate. What I will not do is pretend him paying the water bill or cable bill is just FINE! I also have no issue with if I make more income than him, then we shall share the bills as evenly as possible with either party feeling used or neglected. I am glad that you dove into such a vital topic o discussion…keep the beauty and great topics coming!😊

Great video as always! ❤ I never knew Tyler Perry said that but I am not surprised because of the content he puts out. I no longer watch his shows or movies. They perpetuate the stereotype that black women should accept the bare minimum in order to receive companionship. It is the man’s responsibility to increase his market value. As women, we naturally want to help because we see potential. It’s hard to watch them struggle but let them struggle. Let God handle their situation. Let go of the need to control. And if it is holding you back from your own potential, cut it off. You’ll save yourself from headaches and even worse resentment and attraction loss. I’m glad I’m learning about the importance of femininity and self-improvement in my 20s and not later in life. It’s tough out here but I believe that every woman that is seeking a better life for herself will receive the best life has to offer!

I don’t think he’d give his daughter the same advice. A man has to go to work and strive for greatness all the time. A couple should be a team. I am SO grateful that you had the courage to Clapback at Mr. Perry for this nonsense!!! Yesss! Why is his mindset geared towards coddling the "fragile" male ego? Why isn't he using the HUGE platform God BLESSED him with, as a Hollywood Producer/Actor/Writer/Etc, to bring ENCOURAGEMENT and WISDOM to his community??? Instead, it seems he is acknowledging an important issue (I heard him say "in our society...black women are making a lot more money right now...") but then acting as if the only answer is to give up and give in? Oh well. Go find a broke man. Real love isn't about who pays the bills. This whole attitude of his has me completely baffled. He, himself, is a black man. Wouldn't you think his attitude would be much more like the AMAZING Steve Harvey's attitude? Which is: "If I can do it, shoot, ANYBODY can" 😂!!! I mean, you'd really think Tyler Perry, of all people, would feel that way, right? And he claims to be a Man of God. Well, sir, the Word tells us not to be unevenly yoked. And while that Scripture refers to faith, in context, I believe that if a man RESIGNS himself to a fate of poverty, that man LACKS FAITH to begin with...and you should not align yourself with that. Not in the name of love or in the name of the Holy Spirit, AMEN! Mr. Perry can and SHOULD do better. And I applaud you, ma'am, for making the points you make here...in truth, in faith, in sisterhood, in love! Bless you!❤ You are a blessing girlie!!!❤❤❤

Thank you, Urania. I've always resented struggle love and i am sick of people pushing this toxic narrative down the throaths of bw especially. Like i've said on another channel, everyone(gay men, transgenders, hetero men) are allowed to rest in their "feminine" except us real women. We are well within our rights to want a man who is financially secure and treats us well. And for the women who want a millionaire, that is perfectly fine with me too. I love the new hair btw. You've given me more confidence to wear mine natural again as opposed to having hair that's not mine on my head all the time.

Wow, this is probably my first time commenting although I’ve been a subscriber for a while and I love this channel! Thank you so much for speaking up about this. I think he was 100% wrong to try and put that kind of a burden on black woman or any woman. Thank you so much for putting a counter voice in the right direction out for young women who may hear this terrible life advice from a billionaire. That could have influenced them into a life of misery. This is the real world not some fantasy movie where all you need is love. Love is important but it goes beyond just emotions it goes into act. The Bible says that a man who doesn’t work doesn’t deserve to eat. So if a man loves a woman he should feel a natural drive to want to provide for her and make her life better. He should feel inspired to become better to obtain and maintain her. Not be supported by her. Tyler Perry has his relationship priorities out of order.

Thank you SO MUCH for making this video Urania. I personally Do Not like Tyler Perry movies AT ALL because of this reason. He always has "The struggling black single mother" as the lead and even when her love interest is more finanacially secure and stable, he always has a really dark side to him like an addiction, abuse problems etc. It's like telling women that you need to compromise on the problems you Must absolutely Not accept in a man, that you have to accept the bare minimum just because he "loves you", or "cares for you" and that should be enough. But it is not enough and every woman who is leveling up must know that her worth is so much more than a lovesick struggling partner.

He's in college now, and I discourage him from courting women, not because I'm scared he'd lose his way from college or for some religious reason, but because I want him to focus on securing himself in the following order: 1. mentally 2. emotionally 3. physically 4. spiritually 5. financially Only then can he stand tall and proud to court the most deserving woman of his dreams. We must teach young men that they should focus on their growth and goals first because entering the life of someone's daughter.

I disagreed with TP statement.. He said women can find love w/o better or equal finances. But I believe he meant to say that women should just settle for what they can get. Of course a man w/o resources will play the role dutiful husband if a woman is providing. That's imbalanced though. A light bill.. Is pennies in a household. I would rather be Single than settle for 💡$. Prostitutes or sugar babies get more than that.. He could have encouraged men to level up to the masses of women that are prospering. Instead he encouraged struggle love. Smh..

They never ask why aren't black men doing as well as black women. When we are all coming from the same household.
