@@mowvu I think it would be fairer to say he doesn't really know anything beyond video games and racing, but he is absolutely intelligent. @@Novotny72 he's intelligent in his field, as in racecraft, for example. but he is definitely thick as a plank. he's my fave driver but when he's done press stuff, he shows himself up with zero knowledge outside of f1
@Novotny729 ай бұрын
@@mowvu that's er.. Ok. Seems I'm going to have to teach you some stuff. Being thick, right, is being unable to understand stuff coming at you. It's not about retained knowledge. Intelligence is the capacity to take in and parse data- quickly - it's NOT just regurgitating stuff you have rote-learned. Whilst Lando might not know what the capital of France is, I bet he could solve a mathematical equation faster than you or I. Probably whilst also driving an F1 car. Intelligence is NOT Knowledge.

I am so excited about the new generation of young racers, guys like Lando and Carlos and Charles especially. Here we have guys on the upswing, performing very near to the top, yet maintaining modesty and gratitude and sportsmanship and dedication to the team. When these guys make it to the top- and they will- they'll become a new type of role model showing that you can be a motorsport champion and still have all the qualities that make you a fair competitor and a genuinely kind person. Up until now, we simply accepted that an ace racing driver had to have a massive ego, unbridled aggression, and extreme selfishness. We put up with all kinds of unhealthy rage, fiery tempers, and foul behaviors because we assumed you just couldn't win without that type of old school type A ferocity. Guys like Lando are about to prove that's not always true, and I'm so eager to see how this could change the culture of motorsport for the better.

Sharing my high thoughts because I will have forgotten them in a few minutes. Isn't it weird that when introducing ourselves we tell the other person the least interesting thing about us and expect them to remember it. We get upset when people don't remember our names. Maybe it would be more interesting if instead of telling them our name, we gave them a little fact about ourselves. "Hi, I'm John. I had to leave the army because I fell down a rabbit hole during training" That I would remember, a random thing about you, especially if we came up with them on the spot so they were influenced by their current mood and first impressions of the person they were meeting. Let's be honest lads, we don't care about names; we can be friendly with someone for years without knowing their name.
