People in Japan don't link wearing masks with politics. You feel it's a shame because you are living in a totally different culture and environment. Japan and other Asian countries have been using masks even before the pandemic. I don't think this cultural aspect is a shame.

@@OnePieceAUTORIZED I didn’t say, or intend to imply, anything about politics. You dragged that into it. I am also perfectly aware that wearing masks in Asian countries far predates Covid. I live in a city that is about one-third Asian as well. You are projecting a lot onto me. All I meant is what I said. Why wear a mask while making a video alone in a room? Are Japanese people wearing masks alone at home? Why not have the WeatherNews casters wear masks while on the air? This has nothing to do with ideas of cultural shame, something which never entered my mind. Lighten up.
