Very nice. I love generals charcoal too, it is very good to work with :) Before you said the paper you are using is Strathmore toned sketch, I thought it was Ingres pastel paper as my Strathmore toned sketchbooks/single sheets do not have the honeycomb dimpled texture that is visible in your video - mine is very smooth with flecks in from recycling. Maybe the Strathmore sketchbooks vary from country to country? Anyway, keep up the good work Sayanti x

it is pretty smooth paper.... the texture is visual only!! this is not really the ideal type of paper for pastels or oil pastels... but it works.... and I like the toned tan color and look

Sayanti Fine Arts Yes I love the Strathmore toned sketch papers too, I do all my charcoal pieces on them, they are brilliant for charcoal portraits and I also have their mixed media toned tan and grey too. 🙂 Yours is definitely a different textured paper than what I have in my Strathmore toned sketchbooks - mine have no texture, very odd lol! Anyway, looking forward to your next piece.

Wish I could sketch. I do Jane davenport faces! Oh could you please do one? U could put it on her site. Tons of us look for whimsical faces with oil pastels. Just an idea. Maybe lots of new followers!!! There aren’t very many oil pastel tutorials. Luv u!!

I have done a lot of faces ... but mostly realistic, one pop art style and one Impressionistic. I can give a whirl at the JAne Davenport style too.... but I do not understand the style well...... yet!! how would you define her style?help me out

How do you clean the blending tool in between colors?
@SayantiFineArts5 жыл бұрын
usually I wipe of on a rag... sometimes if it is too badly stained I clean with paint thinner or any sort of oils and wipe dry

On canvas material if we use soft- pastel colour , then how many years we can save the painting ? And what is the starting price if we sell these type of paintings?
@SayantiFineArts5 жыл бұрын
Meher Goradia for soft pastels if you find a way to frame it under glass and use archival supplies the painting will last a lifetime. As for pricing it depends on the size and quality of materials used. I would start with $1 per sq inch for premium quality materials
