That new set up should a huge improvement in sound quality..you we’re probably missing a lot of the music on the recordings with that old portable player..good for you Larry👍👍❤glen

I never left CD. Now my vehicle doesnt have a cd player so I had to put my CDs on a memory stick. So far I have only copied about 60. I have moderately good home audio equipment, but I still use a Sony CD/blue ray/Sac CD player. I borrowed a costly mark levinson CD player but I could not discern any difference in sound quality vs the 30 dollar sony. To eliminate the scratchy sound from your headphone aux input. Get a Q tip. Remove some of the cotton to it will fit into the hole. Apply some contact cleaner and then insert tip into the jack and reduce the oxidation that is causing the noise. If you dont want to purchase contact cleaner, you can use isopropyl alcohol. If you use wd40 you should dilute it with 2 parts isopropyl. Too much lubricant from the traditional wd40 can sometimes cause a problem.

I've got an old Sony DVD/CD player, DVP-SR200P hooked up to my old Kenwood Amp, KA-74 powering a nice pair of Cerwin-Vega 2-way speakers , I forget the model number. Because Inow live in an apartment, i can't crank up the speakers, so I crank up my Sennheiser HD-280 pro headset, which even gives me tinnitus. (along with other sources of sound). Most of the time i listen to CDs in my car on the original radio CD player with original speakers.

The songs on Driving Rain of course because they are done by Paul McCartney are all very good Larry,to me it's just that they are all very similar and kind of down songs and then they're one after another which makes the album kind of depressing for me and yes I understand why Paul made an album like this,losing Linda and then bringing Heather in(that would have been depressing enough!),the man was going through a rough time,poor Paul!,no Paul McCartney is still a genius to me Larry it's just that I like some of his other albums more. Larry, don't get rid of small sony boombox. They come in handy for use of side and on the go. They last forever. I have one still going after 15 years of use.
