This woman is the patron saint of elephants. She cracked the code on how to save milk dependent calves and the world owes her a debt of gratitude. Sad to think we lost this angel 2 years ago.

@@JaneDoe-np4gh Hello. I have only just found your comment. The people involved were doing outreach work connected with what the Sheldrick Foundation were doing. It's many years ago and such a brief meeting but I am glad I had the chance to visit. Not sure if the volunteers actually stayed at the Foundation as part fo thier work was 'awareness' in an educational setting. I live in France. But I have spent a lot of time working in East Africa over the years. And you?

What a wonderful lady! She found her niche and made her charges feel loved and safe. Her keepers are so kind and devoted to their care. It's a shame people think animals are just "throwaways" like some children in this world. They feel, they love, they have nightmares, they get hungry, they get sad. They were created by God as well and are meant to be treated with care. This is so sad, and I'm sorry their champion is gone.

Shannon Cane, what is your problem and so what even if she says daphne walked on water.this platform is not for irrational fundamentalist religiosity.i am African and I support Daphne sheldrick and the charity she founded,I wholly support what Carolyn Jones has proposed to do with her own money.there are so many criminal pastors on my continent and not a single one of them has donated anything to this charity.everyone has a right to think and say what they want and parcel out their own money to whomever they see fit.there are people in this world who refuse to believe the Jesus story anyway.

Gloria God? Let me warn you that Christianity has no monopoly on religiosity.i am an African myself who was brought up as a Christian.there are over 1billion Hindus in the world, over 1.5 billion Muslims, then Buddhists,Shintoism,African tribal belief systems,Zoroastrianism,Judaism etc etc.if you want to preach religiosity go to a pulpit in church or post your comments on religious channels.this video is about orphaned elephants.the late daphne sheldrick never claimed she was god.what have you yourself done for any orphaned elephants or human orphans? Or are you one of the numerous unreasonable fundamentalist Christian morality police monitoring websites to pass judgement? Mind your business and stop condemning anything, everybody and anyone.are you the perfect specimen yourself?

va L Those who would buy should also wise up so that they no longer want to participate in the ivory trade. If there is no one to buy the ivory, then the desire of the poachers for easy money will evaporate along with their cash. What is wrong with the country of Kenya, don't they understand that once their elephants are gone, they are gone FOREVER. The keepers are amazing. There are angels (the care giver people) vs. literal demons (the poachers).
