It's many years ago and such a brief meeting but I am glad I had the chance to visit. i watched the series, 'My Wild AFFAIR of her early days in africa with her husband and starting the caring of elephants . ONE elephant stood out in her life...Aisha. when that elephant died she cried . years later when she retold the story she cried again. pure grief....what a wonderful series. if we can do a little for gods other creatures it would be wonderful. she did so much.

What a wonderful lady! She found her niche and made her charges feel loved and safe. Her keepers are so kind and devoted to their care. It's a shame people think animals are just "throwaways" like some children in this world. They feel, they love, they have nightmares, they get hungry, they get sad. If there is no one to buy the ivory, then the desire of the poachers for easy money will evaporate along with their cash.
