chris sayoc pretty awesome. i got to take a seminar with him back in 1991. his father, grandmaster bo, used to come to our school quite often from naples, along with several of his students. he was a great man. and very nice. rip grandmaster bo.

the guys from sayoc kali choreographed the movie, the hunted, with tommie lee jones. great example of some great knife techniques!

I've had the pleasure of being on the mat with Tom and he is the most dangerous man I've ever met. Sayoc is a Filipino art of the Sayoc clan. I've studied six martial arts including samurai sword, (Please see Yanagi). See the movie The Hunted. Tom was the consultant. He's as light on his feet as a ballet dancer. He asked for a job as a bouncer at the toughest bars in hilly and he got into a fight almost every night. When he get a certain look in his eyes, he looks like he will kill you.

regards Tuhons, i have personally trained with some of the top sayocs including Tuhon Tom Khier, and steve lefebre, and i can assure you Tom is as real as it gets, youd rather have him on your side rather than the other way round, as most likely you will die, i love his killing mentality and how he switches on, ive trained with some good guys but Tuhon tom khier is among the juggernaughts of warriors cant wait for themt o come to the uk again REGARDS TUHONS

warriors of our country(Philippines) do this what ever tribes they belong, War during those times are part and parcel of expanding territory and warriors and soldiers are constantly trained to bet the other tribe out. Respect this, believe me, a person with a knowledge in kali, escrima, arnis can caused death to unskilled person, this is a proven fact, just look what Lapu-lapu did to Magellan, guns and cannons against swords and spears

I had the honor of working with Tuhon Tom a while back - he is one of the most genuine people in the martial arts today. Until you have worked with him (or anyone for that matter) I would refrain from comments. His systems and techniques are highly effective. In fact, I would say that his perceived fitness would indicate that his techniques are even more effective, especially as he proves you don't have to look like GSP to keep yourself and your family alive!

I also had the honor of working with Tuhon Tom, lol when he moves his 300+ plus pounds, it does not matter it you are the feeder or receiver! He brings a wealth of combat (real knife fights hehehe over 500+) experience to the table. That ensures that you learn how to stay alive and protect your family along with with his vast practical understanding of Body Mechanics, Body fluid bleed out times & power compounded "reactionary gap" timings and techniques will give you a good chance to stay alive.

Keo Gali over 500 knife fights? Where did you get that from? Nobody in their right mind would say something like that whatsover. Where are the battle scars, punctures, and lacerations at"? Not taking from the mans skill set give and take, but i have seen real people who have been in knife battles on the streets and in prison and thats as real as it gets! Anybody tell's you they have been in 500 plus knife fights is either lying,delusional,or crazy! Or a combination of all three!

Over 500 fights, but not knife fights. I worked for many years as a bouncer and had a lot of fights, maybe average 5 a week but different clubs and bars and in different states over about ten years. In all those fights maybe 5 that edged weapons were used, even with all the training I had, I got cut in everyone, never real bad, but leaking none the less. 500 actual blade fights !...I would not be here or I would have no fingers. Hell, I'm still broke up from so many regular fist fights, and I won most of them. That quote was a misunderstanding.

Thank you for the reference. I want to rediscover Samurai Jujutsu as the killing art that it used to be, unfortunally its preservation has been fragmented into multiple martial arts such as Judo, Aikido, and Japanese Juijitsu. In my opinion, Judo is the true heir of Samurai Jujutsu, the other arts lost real life/full force chaotic training (randori), which is the essence of any real combat martial art. I always tell people that each one of my sensei (49, 70, 65 years old) could kill me.

Some of the western boxing "slipping" techniques are based on Philippine knife fighting...The only martial art that dealt with disarming opponents with knives is Samurai Jujutsu, which died out prior to WWII. You can see some of the remnants of the disarming techniques in Aikido and maybe Japanese Jiujitsu, but I doubt any Aikidoka will be able to stand against a fluid moving Skrima fighter. Not because the Aikido techniques are flawed, but because they do not emphasize randori..

@blarson12 I'm sure you're a skilled and experienced martial artist, and not a little punk ass hiding behind his keyboard. You should go to Sama Sama next year, and show them all how it's done. Better yet, seek out the Sayoc Tactical group and enlighten them with your experience and hard fought wisdom. Tuhon Tom is really a pushover. Oh, and please record it so the everyone can learn from your greatness.
