It was very unfair and unethical to show the bride a dress 50% over her budget. It gave me a bitter taste in my mouth and I feel sorry for the bride's family who was put on the spot through unethical selling from the assistant.

I've seen comments when someone in the wedding party picks out a over budget wedding gown for that person to pay the difference. How about telling the consultant if they pick over budget that they, the consultant would be responsible to pay the difference.

Got to say, Diana isn't my favorite consultant. I feel she pulls dresses knowing they are out of the bride's price range. I am astonished when Courtnee says her budget is $4500, and Randy & Diana look at each other like it's not feasible and could she stretch it a little. You probably would get a better deal at a smaller bridal shop. You only wear the dress one time for about 6 hours, and after you get your photo's back you rarely look at them after the first year.

When i bought my dress i went to a shop, told them my budget, without asking if there was wiggle room she came in with a dress $2000 over budget. I walked out. Went to another shop and got a beautiful dress for $2500 under budget.

I went to Kleinfeld recently (September 2024) and told my assistant my budget was $2500 she showed we SEVERAL GORGEOUS dresses well under that amount. The dress I chose was a $2200 pronovias (the name of the dress is Jory). I was so grateful she listened to and RESPECTED my budget. 🙏🏾

I remember an episode where Randy kind of scolded another store for pulling dresses that were out of the brides budget and he said something like “You must ALWAYS respect the brides budget”. The consultant shouldn't have pulled that dress but she told the bride upfront before trying it on and the bride knew the price so she didn't have to Try it on if she really wanted to stick to her budget and if you listen to how she says very carefully I might add that her mom always wants her to be happy I 100 per cent believe the bride was trying to get her mom to agree to help pay which is what happened she just didn't wanna look spoiled and that's why when she was talking on her own about her mom always wanting to make her happy I thought she was wording it very carefully so she didn't sound like she was trying to guilt her mom into helping her which is really what she did. Everyone's blaming the consultant but this time the consultant was upfront and told the bride the price before the bride tried it on so the bride made the decision to do it hoping mom would help. So really the bride isn't innocent in this either. If it had been me and I needed to stick to my budget and I was told the price I wouldn't try it on cos whays the point. 4:18. What Randy says here is the unspoken truth of bridal gowns. The better the design, the more simple and more expensive. It takes taste to go understated. And I agree with much that has been said, the dress should not have been shown to the bride. Beading is the most expensive thing you can do to a garment, and that wedding dress was covered in it.
