@kp49112 жыл бұрын
If the bride really loved it and was strong in her authentic self, she would have stuck to her guns. How many episodes of SYTTD have we seen where family has talked a bride out of a dress to later have the bride find the "perfect" dress a few gowns later that they are ecstatic about and they are so grateful that they kept trying on dresses. Sometimes family IS right.

Agree what the bride wants is the most important
@sparkyskooter9112 жыл бұрын
@@kp4911 I do agree with you! If they loved it SO much and it was the absolute perfect dress then likely they wouldn't care what anyone else thought. The MAJORITY of the time, anyways. HOWEVER, we do know that some brides are very passive, shy, and can be easily coerced into agreeing with family members or just going with what they think of them instead of what they truly think themselves. In fact I'd say the majority of brides are at least heavily swayed by family opinions, especially their mother's. I think a lot of times they'll find something THEY love and would choose themselves, but if family hates it then they keep going until they find something else they love that family also loves. Then when their family loves it, it just makes it easier for the bride to see it too.
@Iluvchickenfry Жыл бұрын
It's because the store takes 6-8 months or even a year to deliver the dresses and if the bride chooses something without putting too much thoughts into it, after so many months they might not like the dress. Sometimes they even end up wanting a new dress in a rush and spend lots of money to make that happen. That's why brides bring so many people with them to make the best decision and I'm sure most of the time the entourage oppose the bride out of the best intentions in their hearts, even if it may sound insensitive

If you have an unlimited budget, fly to Lancashire and let Gok pick a dress for you
@catladyfromky4142 Жыл бұрын
She would not be happy with those dresses. She wants high end designer, and Lancashire doesn't have those. She also wants Pnina, and Lancashire does not carry those. I really don't understand why you and other people think that Gok actually works at that store. He doesn't. He was there for the filming of SYTTD. Therefore, he is not in charge of which dresses the store has in stock. Then I don't understand why you would think that this bride would be comfortable in an Essence of Australia dress. Show me one EofA dress with a sheer corset, feathers, and bling that this bride liked. You get comaught up in the production of STTTD. Gok plays mental health counselor, and you expect all brides to need that. They don't. It is a reality TV show where women apply and the producers decide who gets on. Every show tells a story, and Lancashire (like Curvy Brides) almost always has to have some problem that he fixes. Sometimes you don't see budgets, because that is not related to the story. Also notice that Lancashire is a newer production. The lighting is different. The style of dresses are closer to today's fashion. You don't know what Lancashire would have had during this episode, since this episode is very old (look at Randy's hair - no grey). Randy stopped working there in 2014. Lancashire wasn't even a twinkle in a producer's eye then. Gok is a great stylist. But there are many great stylists around, and this bride seems to have gotten what she asked for in NYC. So why on earth would you suggest she make these women fly across the pond for a dress she wouldn't even like? (Remember that she bought a Pnina).

That's fair. I must ask, though, what is classy? I can find pictures of aristocrats and royalty from centuries past showing off their cleavage, for example. Meanwhile many people judge a woman for showing off her leg or even her damn shoulders. My definition of classy isn't related to how garish a dress is, but how a person behaves instead. You can wear the most dignified and modest gown while acting like a street walking whore. You can have the most revealing and dramatic dress while behaving like a cultured and polite princess.

And of course all my family was there.and I got to have my grandfather walk me down the isle while my cousin played the bagpipes. My second wedding I was in Switzerland ( different husband) I had a silk red dress with a sweetheart neckline and sleeves. My mom and my grandma were my family representatives. - I had a civil ceremony, I had good friends there at my wedding, and I chose my sister in law to be my witness. And he chose a good sporting friend whose wife is also one of my best friends here. We had an approach with our language school friends, family friends, sport team, and friends from when he worked in Canada, then we had our formal dinner with the few family and friends. I felt I had enough support through my friends to represent my side. I love Swiss weddings, full of jokes, games, skits, nothing like what I had in canada.( also forgot to say I did my pictures in a local castle here near where I live( so didn’t matter the weather( early October) when we went back to canada for a visit, my mom did a big party in the garage so I could celebrate with my Canadian family and friends. There is always a compromise around international marriages. And a way we can all celebrate together.

It's also one of the key elements I'm looking for in this channel. This time, I was also interested in the expression of the bride. As time goes on, I feel that her smile is not from the bottom of her heart. It's a compromise, not a LOVE for the dress.

His designs beat out Pnina on class and elegance. Too bad they always push her designs instead of his.

Both of them are designers and in the business so no matter whose dress is selling, both of them are winning

she looked "dropped dead gorgeous" if she want to wear something she like then she can don't start her off with a expensive dress that's not even that cute I hate people like that

I hate that see thu dress! 16 grand for a piece of trash? NO WAY☹️

I know! All those Pnina’s are Ugly AF. The last one had Bizarre layers that looked really weird. She couldn’t look bad if she tried, but that last dress sure tried

Why is the married woman purchasing a very expensive dress for a reception? What a waste of money.

Loved the 'Hollywood', it was so sophisticated looking on her. A 'Higher Standard' than what she kept picking out. I'm disappointed they didn't go back to it once mom was ok with her wearing her org. wedding dress. Mom was right 'clothes do make the man' so to speak.

I don’t understand why the “brides” don’t put their hair up so we can see the front and back of the dresses. She can wear any hairstyle on her day.

Ngl... I hate HATE the dress she chose -.- The dress she put on at 4:05 was so drop dead gorgeous on her... Such a shame she went for that other dress =( I wish her all the happiness in the world.... When I saw the pictures of her husband and her I couldnt help but smile they look so happy! I dont get why they went so high in price right off they have sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many dresses under 5k. Just because her budget is unlimited doesnt mean you have to spend it all? Thats another thing thats getting me with these episodes as of late. Very frustrating.

i would like the dress she chose much better if the bodice had a liner so you can't see the boning. but that's pnina's style, take a lingerie corset from frederick's of hollywood, add a skirt and run it through the bedazzler, call it a wedding dress and sell it for the price of a secondhand luxury sedan.
@sandrap63212 жыл бұрын
See thru corset gowns are not my favorite. All I notice are all the seams showing. Not flattering on anyone.

if this dress is for the reception "party," why wear another wedding dress rather than a party dress? if she wants to wear a wedding gown, then wear the one wore at her elopement?

Who could do that to a loving mother? My girls wanted small weddings but they definitely wanted me & daddy there. Then they had knock out receptions with all friends & family. Yes, it’s about the bride but no parents? Sigh…

Why can’t you wear the same dress as worn at the elopement? Was it rented or borrowed?
@mariannemccurdy7362 жыл бұрын
I see why she eloped!!! I'm a Mama that loves whatever the bride loves!!! The way it's supposed to be at such a stressful time!! It's the bride's day.... not the Mama's day!!!

With unlimited budget they could easily find a dress they both like, even detachable ones..mum was really sad because probably she had always dreamt of her daughter's wedding. And she actually loved the original dress her daughter wore.

“I want sexy & skanky with an unlimited budget” Step on up Pnina Tornai dresses 👰 Wish she’d chosen the 2nd last dress. That was beautiful, unique & with a veil would have looked like a wedding dress. It was all about Mum being left out of the wedding.

I honestly hated the second dress. I prefer more structure in the bodice. I didn’t find the second one flattering on her.

Why would anyone want to look sexy and skanky at their wedding as a source of pride? It's a wedding not a streetwalker's convention.

The fact that they showed FOUR Pnina dresses, and not anything else (until her entourage picked a Mark Zunino), says it all. Ugh 🙄🙄🙄

Why is she buying a brand new bridal dress when she’s saying she wants a “party” dress? And, then add a veil? She bought a brand new bridal dress, NOT a “party” dress. People with too much money and nothing better to do with it kill me. 🙄🤯

Too bad they didn't have more information on the reason why the mom didn't went to the wedding. The daughter having no budget limit on the price tells me money was not a problem. She did mention their relationship it "alright" is something deeper. Then again, why care so much about her mom liking the dress. I don't understand 🤷
@wendyeskelin87652 жыл бұрын
First off she is so pretty and she looked great in all of the dresses. I don't really know why she didn't just wear her wedding dress to the reception and if she wanted just a reception dress, not sure why she didn't go for something less wedding like without a veil.
