Yep. When I was shopping for my dress I found a beautiful one that was priced at 1950.00 before taxes.. I had the money put away and had been saving, so that wasn't the issue, But once you factor in alterations, veil, gown accessories, shoes, etc. It adds up quickly. I did find another gown that was a little over a 1000, but even after everything is said and done--the price for my stuff alone with hair and make up will be close to 1600 by the time our wedding comes around. So I can see why she maybe was hesitant to drop that money on it.

This was the most confusing episode to me by far. Confusing #1: that giant flower on her front was SO distracting. I couldn't stop looking at the flower. Confusing #2: how is a fit and flare something that someone can wear generations from now? You would have to have pretty much the same body type down to the same size and length thighs.

It didn't seemed forced to me, but I do understand things are scripted. I am a scientist, and try to use logic more than emotion in decision making. I know what style I would like in a wedding dress, but in choosing between contenders that meet my style preferences, I would then go to comfort, alteration needs, and practicality. For instance, I liked the flower front on the dress for the other bride as well as the idea that it was one of a kind. However, that flower would turn into a crumb catcher and would get in the way if we had dancing. It also won't pass the test of time in photos. I wouldn't take into account passing it down as I don't want to put pressure on family members to wear my dress.
