She is very pretty girl and she would suit something more elaborate, but not tacky. I felt she needed couture feel to design with 3D skirt or details/texture. When I saw her chosen De La Renta gown, that was pretty much that, although I think she could do better, once she opted for designer range. She is the type that can pull off mix of Old Hollywood and regal. The one she chose was slightly underwhelming, IMHO.

I found a photo of the wedding dress she chose & I absolutely love it! I know some people in the comments are saying that the style is old & that no one would want to wear it these days BUT that doesn't apply to vintage lovers like me. I think it's prettiest than all the dresses she tried on the show.

Just wrote this to another identical stance comment, so here's the copy: I think the importance of celebration and people are A GIVEN, and when people say the dress is most important part of the wedding they're saying it in a context of planning the event. Comments like yours sound condescending, borderline insulting to me, especially since this family seems quite nice.

@@aleksandra... to be fair, it was meant to be condescending. She said “the dress is the most important part of the wedding”! If you choose to make assumptions that she didn’t actually mean that, that’s up to you, I’m simply commenting on the words that literally came out of her mouth! And honestly, what are you like! ‘here’s a copy’? 😂 oh gee thanks! I never asked ‘for a copy’ of what you wrote. THAT is condescending! But I guess you meant to be too.

@aleksandra...
@aleksandra... Жыл бұрын
@@sooticablue1664 yes, she literally said what you quoted, but - *seriously* is context _not a thing_ in your comprehension of words, hers, and now mine?! 🤔 I already tried, but you ignored my point, so here's another attempt : They're there to BUY, they're acquiring THINGS, figuring parts of the preparation for wedding ceremony. It's understood or a given. She doesn't need to tell that - for [some of] us to _not assume_ she literally puts a dress above actual human beings in her life ffs. Word wedding can be used for narrower - stuff, and wider meaning, including people and activities during the wedding - so yes, I am choosing to understand her ONE sentence as a former, just as you're choosing the latter. And those choices tell about me and you... Also - it's a show about dresses brides might be prompted or feel it's right to say such things! Plus people tend to see what they're doing at the moment as most important. You're putting too much seriousness in your choice of interpreting it as "a truth" behind the sentence. Theoretically, either one of us can be right, but even if you're right and she's just shallow, materialistic dress obsessed person who puts a dress above literally all else, you're still condescending - as you're the one going around telling people what they should find important to value in their life['s events] "she lost sight in what's important in HER wedding" and... YOU know better? 🤦🏻 /I said it was a copy, to emphasize how you're getting identical answer to ±identical comment someone else made & yt positioned right above yours 🤷🏻 - we didn't ask for that either, yet here we are/
@aleksandra...
@aleksandra... Жыл бұрын
btw, I'm writing here as a woman who got married in casual not new clothes (pants, no rings exchange either), without family or wedding ceremony - because I don't like any of those things, we just wanted to BE married. Additionally I despise wedding industry i see (especially what US has) and I'm watching these out of curiosity and because I like seeing people be happy when they do find the dress, and feel good and appreciated. So - there's no way to read my comments as any defense of putting a dress - in and of itself - as an important THING , especially _the most_ important. But you seem to be forgetting that most important of all PEOPLE are bride and groom. And they have to feel good, the best - for it to be the good overall experience. And with all, disproportional societal pressure on women to look good, and her being in the spotlight (definitely not a problem for bride in this video, but for many it is) - having a dress that she feels great in may be the most important ~thing~ for the wedding to be enjoyable. So - even if that one often repeated - to the point of cliché - sentence is to be taken literally in a wider sense - that doesn't equal "lost sight of what's actually most important THING about the wedding"
