Met my husband at 20, got married in our backyard at 24 in a wedding dress I bought from the clearance rack from a local shop. Paid $300 and loved the dress. My mother exactly. I’m 72, she died last year at 96. My sister and I can attest to it, she never wished us well, or gave us a compliment. She never said I’m sorry or I’m wrong. She liked to reduce you to tears. Two days before she died, I said “mom I love you” she replied “I love me more”. She stayed true to her character right til the end. I feel for that bride. She looked amazing in dress #3. I envy people with a loving mother.

I personally approached that with the mindset that it is their pain talking, i try to not take a single word person and i pray that they heal and forgive them. But I wish you and your sisters are okay. It can be destructive to ones spirit to live with that abuse.
