When my daughter got married we went into a shop and while we were waiting for our turn she began looking at the discount rack. These were returned dressed because the wedding fell through. She pulled one out, fit her perfectly and she loved it. $150🎉

The Amanda episode is a bit sad for me because that woman was living in an obsessive dream world and showed clear signs of an underlying psychological issue. What is also distressing is that her entourage members enabled her resulting behavior. The groom identified this issue and decided to run, rather than help her so this was not a healthy relationship. I hope she got help and clarity.
@GenaP20248 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the groom is the last one who could help her. It would only perpetuate the underlying mental health issue. She needs to work on herself and be whole, so she can be in a healthy relationship.
@Kayenne547 ай бұрын
"The groom identified this issue and decided to run, rather than help her". Not sure what he did for a living, but there was no mention that he was a psychologist or trained counsellor. Was there? And even psychologists and counsellors are permitted to say "I don't want to work 24/7". People with issues really should NOT expect everyone around them to down tools and "help them" either. Seek professionally trained help. Not ask a boyfriend to be a counsellor. Life throws curve balls all the time, but choosing to go into a difficult relationship (where someone has already made ALL the decisions on how everything MUST proceed) is a clear warning of shoals ahead, and a wise person bows out. I'm pretty sure poor Amanda had at least one meltdown a day because someone she was ordering around didn't understand her vision of HER special day. He was merely an accessory to her dream. Her obsession with the whole process probably sent her into Bridezilla on Steroids territory. Not particularly stable. Probably never heard "No" in her entire life either.

I agree with you. They shed a light on Amanda of the obsessed freak that has dreamt of her wedding and that the wedding was called off because of that. Like you said, it's like they want her to dream about it but put a cap on it. Crazy. There is nothing wrong with loving weddings and trying to understand what you want and plan ahead for when it comes. If the wedding was called off it was not because she had dreamt and planned for it and told him about it or pressured him. They made us believe the wedding was called off because of her obssession as they say insinuate, but it he was a MAN he wouldn't have proposed before he was ready and wouldn't have felt pressured into it.

This obsession about weddings and wedding gowns comes from the lack of occasions where girls could wear formal gowns and dance (maybe formal dances) in a beautiful surroundings. Winter balls in Vienna are occasions like this. If I were a US-based event manager I would offer such occasions, I would earn a ton of money.
@lesliesackey20123 ай бұрын
I think societal pressure also plays a role into this. People should feel free to wear long dresses everyday if that’s what they want. Or never wear dresses if that’s what they want. Wear whatever you feel comfortable with as long as you’re not breaking any laws lol

There is nothing wrong with loving weddings, understanding what you want and plan ahead for when it comes. We do it with the house, the career, the vacations we want but can't do it with for the wedding? @@anngcampbellbower4385 I am a seamstress who has worked with dozens upon dozens of wedding gowns and formal wear, costuming, and more. I know very well the amount of fabric that is required for making garments of all kinds, including historically accurate garments.
