ILAW is a song that anybody can relate, the struggle of not being heard, when nobody seem to care..But it can also their struggle as a group when despite their popularity , some other Filipinos doesn't support them, when its their dream to be known and be recognized not only globally but also here in the Philippines.💕💕🙁🥺👏

According to Pablo in an interview, this song is about them. Ilaw pertains to the spotlight that they enjoy but they also crave to be heard and known as they are. He also said that there was a time when they talked about their struggles only among themselves. Nonetheless the song is open to so many interpretations. Hopefully Liham's lyric video next and a perf vid during their con.

Love that you guys like SB19 music like "ILAW" anyway in that song they mention the word "Vexing" in that particular stanza meant "thinking of irritating things that has been happened". Sometimes in our language there's more than one meaning depending on how it was applied to a certain incident or a thing. 😊

Glad you liked the lyrics of the song as well! The lyrics in Filipino/Tagalog was well written. The English translation was nicely done as well. It didn't come out as cringy or weird. They used the word 'vexing' which was quite an appropriate translation instead of using 'thinking of worrisome/exasperating thoughts'. It's not a word I come across often though. 😅
@ginamorris4520 Жыл бұрын
They've been belittled, laughed at, vastly understimated when they just started, by fellow Filipinos nonetheless even respected artists. Stell and Pablo was ridiculed bec of their looks, their style was called copycats of KPop. In so many videos they humbly explained that they knew they're not good looking but they have skills borne out of intensive training by their Korean trainers but they have the talent that is undeniably Pinoy. All of their songs are greatly inspired by their hardships but beautifully written to transcend into diff experiences we all can relate. Pablo is a genius he can weave all their ideas in one beautiful song. This hit hard to those concerned,now they're changing their minds even Pablo said they receive compliments now from those artists and it warm their hearts to be recognized as they are.

These were when they were managed by Korean company, they have no say to anything. They are not Chinese/Korean however, they were put under pressure to do every single C/K song and what else! (they are Filiiinos), Even they were in limelight . And now big change, they are their own management, the CEO’s of their own company (hard work, and never give up). 1Z (zone) Entertainment!

They are just trying to say that behind the limelight..(blinding light).. they are still the same.. the fame didn’t change them.. fame will never make them untouchable or unreachable.. you can slways open the door that is not even closed … josh in his song WILD TONIGHT: i’m on the top but i choose to come down just to say hi…

They are trying to deliver that they are not trying to copy Korean music.. even they say they are making their own music, no one listens. Everybody still thinks they are not real. So, the light represents the fame that covers their real work. That's how I understood their song.

Thank you for reacting to this! ❤ As Pablo said in some interviews and even on twitter I think, that the lyrics(of any of their songs) can mean different things and definitely up for anyone’s interpretation.. In this song, they’re PROBABLY(i’m also guessing here) talking about their struggles reaching for their dreams, how they had to hide their real selves behind the light because “they have to” being artists and all. Felt like they lost theirselves in the process. But the beautiful thing is, it can also be seen as everyone’s struggle to either be heard, seen, appreciated, or even being “okay” in front of people but really have a ton of personal problems. Hiding behind a mask. Which makes it super relatable. I’ve always appreciated SB19’s way of writing music and that sometimes it feels “raw” which I mean in a great way as it also enables them to tap into their emotions and really bring it out to their performances and move people with it. ❤
@nathaliedacion8660 Жыл бұрын
It’s kind of like the blinding light (spotlight) that they are in because of their fame maybe is sort of in between that people are shown not who they really are but how they have to change for the people they are presenting themselves for, sort of.. and maybe it’s creating this confusion amongst themselves to ask, who they are really.

Hi! The SB19 has a new song collab with Sarah G. (The Asian pop princess) title Ace Your World. Can you react to it? It was written and produce by Pablo and his brother.
@terrence5733 Жыл бұрын
For me, I translate this as them being compared to KPOP during their debut, as there were many comments saying that they are KPOP copycats. This is them telling us that they have their own identity, they have their own uniqueness. And since they are becoming more popular and being on the SPOTLIGHT means they need to deal with some other issues as well. Even here in the PH, their own country, they are being criticized. Why can't we embrace them as they are? Why can't we face the fact that they are just a group of boys who dreams, who want to share their own struggles and make good music?
@rawsmj Жыл бұрын
Vexing means madning / annoying / irritating. I’m vexed by you (annoyed by you). Actually, the translation of that line should be ( nag iisip ng kung ano ano ) Thinking of all sorts of things. The song really sends a strong message of listening and seeing the real person who is close to you. I love this song. Thank you 🙏🏼.
