I've lost count of how many times I've seen this interview but it always brings tears to my eyes. They were forged by fire and came out as diamonds. Their brotherhood is so strong coz they've been through so much over the years. All of them are strong and inspirational but Pablo's mind is truly something else that's why he is my bias but i would still say i'm a Mahalima ❤

Hi! This is like the 4th or 5th time I've seen these KwentoJuan episodes with SB19 and the stories and conversations and insights hit just as hard as the 1st time -- all the more that in the years since this was recorded, we see how much farther SB19 has gotten, yet still remain grounded. Maddest admiration and respect for Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken & Justin and The Juans! Toni, I'm glad to have re-watched these with you! To see your reactions, how their stories move you, and get you to relate them to your own experiences, to hear that it makes you respect and root for them more -- in turn it renews and re-justifies my own feelings -- admiration, pride, gratitude, confidence and deep affection -- for SB19. Thanks for taking the time to get to know our boys, and introducing them to your friend via the "I Want You method" (LOL). Looking forward to you sharing the next episode of your A'TIN journey!

I couldn't agree more. The best way to know SB19 is by stories that they tell themselves. Not to down on fanmade ones but they tend to tweak the story based on their understanding sometimes losing the authenticity of what really happened.

@ToniReacts, that already tells me 2 things: (1) that you've successfully taught yourself to arrive at working solutions, and (2) that you know enough to recognise your own knowledge gaps. Both deserve respect! In tech, overconfidence in ones' own skills + unconscious incompetence (a.k.a., the Dunning-Kruger effect) is sadly common, but I find that people who take up tech skills because they NEED to, rather than because it seems cool/smart, are less likely to fall prey to this bec they tend to approach the learning with humility and are focused on solutions. 😊 Anyway, pulling oneself up by one's own bootstraps--you have that in common with the boys! 😆

@@ToniReacts so bayanihan is this idea that we’re all part of one community (bayan can mean town, village, or motherland), and when someone in that community is in need of help, everyone pitches in. This spirit of volunteerism shows a lot during natural calamities (we’re in this geographic position where we experience more typhoons than average, for example), and I think it’s developed also partly because social services from the government here are insufficient for the most part. Pakikipagkapwa-tao is an aspect of Filipino psychology that kinda translates to a sense of empathy that comes from recognizing and connecting with others as fellow human beings. I personally feel like this is something that informs a lot of their music and a lot of Pablo’s writing, especially (you’d probably understand why I say this when you get to songs like ikako or nyebe or Pablo’s solo work).

State Universities in Philippines have their own charter and are created by a legislative act. Tuition and other fees are subsidized hence qualifiers like Pablo pays only minimal fees. Per semester skolar ng bayan or the nation’s scholars pay only 500- 700 pesos =-200.00 pesos 10-12 US dollars. You have to pass the entrance exam though for you to qualify

@ToniReacts11 күн бұрын
Thank you for explaining! I was actually curious about that lol is $10-12 still considered a lot for you? With conversion rates and cost of living in PH I wasn’t sure. My education was so expensive since I went to a private Catholic college and I haven’t made a dent in my student loans at all. It’s actually a huge problem here in the US 😓
@KueenG2711 күн бұрын
@@ToniReacts yes here in the Philippines the minimum wage per day is barely equivalent to 9-10 USD only. It is a privilege here to get quality education. It is not as expensive as that in the US but quality of education is at par with that in the west. Parents in the [Philippines prioritize education, they typically support their children’s education until they graduate from college. So many have to work overseas (overseas Filipino workers) just to do that just like Pablo’s dad and Ken’s parents . Children also help out - they study hard to qualify to state univ. or work part time to help out with education expenses
