Pablo composed Mapa at the height of the Covid 19 pandemic when they were sequestered in a house and can't see their families. The official lyric video has more than 100M views. MAPA didn't have an MV so Selecta made one with them as they are endorsing this leading ice cream brand in the Phils. Incidentally, my niece and her team produced this and she can attest that SB19 was a joy to work with. She's been art directing them every now and then since 2020 and she said they haven't changed at all and remained humble and so polite 😊

Thank you for the HONEST reaction. SB19 always performs live even if they are not in condition or even if they are sick, often it's Ken/Felip who's sick. And this is not to degrade them but to show that they are not using auto tunes when they perform. What makes their live performances better than the MV is the raw talent and its perfect imperfections. The adlibs and also their emotions.

I love how honest you are in your reactions. You see and hear those small details and is not afraid to point it out. But still you show appreciation for each of the members good points. Some reactors might not notice those minute details or either they choose not to mention it to avoid unpleasant encounters from "SOME" immature fans ( which is very rare in this fandom, btw). This just proves that they are people too who are not perfect, but still they strive to improve their skills to better their craft. Through the years, we can see how much they have all grown vocally and how far they improved just by listening and comparing their old and recent stuff. I am not saying that they were not good before, its just that they keep getting better and better.

TILALUHA performed in ROUND FESTIVAL. In this specific performance, you will clearly hear Ken's exceptional bass vibrating below while Stell is hitting the high notes. They describe it as "Stell bringing us to the heavens while Ken is dragging us to the depth of the earth". Pablo's ability to shift voices and was called "master blender" and Josh and Justine's tenor voices making such a remarkable harmony. A must watch!

Agree, though Justin's not a tenor but a baritone - next to Ken, he has the lowest voice. This is why their harmonies are soooo good because they have a bass (Ken), baritone (Justin), two tenors (Josh & Pablo) and the rare counter-tenor (Stell).

This is Ken's favorite song and he gets emotional when he sings this. In the ad in his younger self the first scene grandma still there and gone in his older self. He grew up with his grandma (while his parents work abroad most of his life reunited with them just 2yrs ago) she died when they were recording MAPA. I think the song is more personal for Ken and Josh who never met his Dad.

This is a big lie. Sb19 didnt pave anything. Direk lauren already picking bini members even before sb19. The girls have been training when they are 15-16 years old and they are now 20-23 years old. MAPA indeed wasn't originally an ad for ice cream. When they were starting, they had to travel a lot and they missed their families. Pablo wrote MAPA after asking the other members what they wished to say to their families. They released it amid the pandemic and it touched a lot of people, especially those who were apart from their families. The ice cream company saw how big an impact the song had and made them official endorsers. Since MAPA only had a lyric video originally, they sponsored this MV.

Lataratara" is apparently a Filipino lullaby but I personally don't remember it even though I grew up in the Philippines. "MaPa" is a combination of "Ma" and "Pa" but "mapa" is also Spanish for map and we Filipinos use a lot of Spanish words. The song uses play on words like "mata" (meaning eyes) for when they describe their "Ma" and "paa" (meaning feet) when describing their "Pa". The parents are their eyes that gives them their worldview and their feet that lets them go places.

I really enjoy watching you guys ❤ 😂😂😂😂, and couldn't agree more to all your comments ❤ And I just wanna talk about Ken too 😊 let's set aside that at this time he was a bit under the weather (that's not an excuse I know) but this was those times that he was still exploring/experimenting his voice range/style. He was not comfortable/ lack of confidence of his voice. (Because of that mindset that to be a good singer you have to hit high notes) Before puberty hit him high notes were easy for him. Thank heavens that Pablo encouraged him to love his voice and experiment out of it. (Good leader indeed) But now with the help of professionals guiding them/him he improved a LOT and I'm even more proud of him. To prove that to you, please listen to his solo song called CRIMINAL... Recording or live, he delivered ☺️😉. PS: still no high notes, but 50 shades of FELIP 😅 (his solo artist name)

Selecta is one of the brands that became their partner when they transition to 1Z, their own company.. as MAPA doesn't have an official MV, Selecta made one for them.. as you get to know these hardworking men, you will soon discover that their partner brands tend to produce/initiate various concerts for them because of the buying power of A'tin to sell out tickets minutes after it is open for purchasing..
