Govt to tighten baggage rules for gold bar to boost remittance inflow
স্বর্ণের বার আনার ব্যাগেজ রুল কঠোর হচ্ছে। একটার বেশি বার আনলেই তা বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হবে। তবে স্বর্ণের এই বার হতে হবে ১৫০ গ্রামের কম ওজনের। আগামী ২০২৩-২৪ অর্থবছরের বাজেটে এ বিষয়ে ঘোষণা আসতে পারে। বর্তমানে ২ হাজার টাকা শুল্ক দিয়ে একজন যাত্রী ২০ ভরি ওজনের দুটি বার আনতে পারেন। বৈধ পথে স্বর্ণ আমদানি উৎসাহিত করতে এই পদক্ষেপ নেয়ার পরিকল্পনা চলছে। গত বছরে বিদেশ ফেরত যাত্রীরা ৫৪ টন স্বর্ণ আনেন। যার বাজার মূল্য প্রায় ৪৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা। এর মধ্যে স্বর্ণের বার ছিলো ৩৫ হাজার কোটি টাকার।
