from the ever increasing distance i look back at Final Fantasy X; Aspects of it continue to increase in depths of their insanity and the starkness of enigmatic reasoning that brought them into being, Yet, simultaneously, aspects of it also deepen in their profound sagacity and grow stronger in brilliance. 46:34 for example: this part of relationship building that matt is attempting to lampoon is a strong moment but not because it is tone deaf or nonsensical, it is in fact a brilliant moment between these two characters whose context requires a social mental age that might still be beyond matt today. It would totally appear bizarre and cryptic to someone who can't relate with the situation of 2 people who like each other and want to get to know each other better but they are still at a stage of formality where they have to have good pretenses to be in each others company and they are both struggling to concoct one and they both realize it at the same time. it's a significant moment.

I think the thing I appreciate most about this compilation is that we actually get their gameply. The other comps, while a testament to this LP, only cover the glory the single greatest character in SBFP history. So it's easy to forget that *GRAND WIZARD WAKA* was, in fact, in a video game. With monsters, and puzzles.

Matt is pretty good at researching topics. He, genuinely, has a great mind for trivia and his passions are really earnest and he actually tends to invest himself in things. It makes him a great counter to Pat, who literally could not give less of a shit if he's *ACTUALLY* right or wrong, or what he's doing is *ACTUALLY* progressing the game, or if what he's doing is *ACTUALLY* entertaining. Pat will adamantly do things his way, as long as he thinks he's right, and never ever back down from that even if he is DEMONSTRABLY wrong and has been infuriatingly toxic about it. But the things Matt finds funny are things he will try to push and push and push until its tired. Like, he has some gems here. The FIRST joke he makes about Lulu's tits, where woolie's like "Oh do we get out slowpan shot?" and Matt PASSIONATELY goes "NO! No, you gotta save them for the super bowl." or whatever? That was dynamite. "Waka why does your job say 'grand wizard'?" is ICONIC. But if I got a nickle for every lulu titty joke, or tidus being hungry joke that didn't land I'd be in a totally different tax bracket by now and we're not even half way through the LP

I've just fully realized. Every single one of the boys' spinoff channels is complete dross. The only thing woolies channel had at the beginning was DMC5 play through with pat. Rest was shit.

Ehhh it depends for Woolie. His Disco Elysium LP is also great, but that's more because Reggie as his Co-Host and the nature of the game lends itself well to really funny moments. I'd also say his LP of the Naruto games are alright, again, Reggie as a cohost adds a lot. Ive been watching him play Elden Ring and laughing as Reggie totally has the right idea and Wooly, because he's just fundamentally bad at these games, gets bodied over and over again. Matt's "What Happened" series is also alright. I think they're fairly informative but I imagine they'd be a lot better if he didn't make them so short. He tries to keep them under 30mins but those style of analytical analysis REALLY shine as longform breakdowns. Pat's channel has always been shit and that's because Pat is a cantankerous contrarian who will, predictably, on *REFLEX* do the OPPOSITE of what he should be doing just because he was told to do it. He's the kind of guy who would be told "you need to shoot a portal on THIS spot to clear the puzzle" in portal and then spend the next hour and half NOT doing that. They truly were at their strongest together.

It's REAL funny to see him gas up Beau DeMayo like "Yee! YEE! Black man runnin' shit? That's how you know. He's a real one, he's a real OG!" and now it's like "wha? Beau DeMayo is a wha? Who's Beau DeMayo? I aint ever heard of him, so anyway..." The SBF Zaibatsu was headed by guys who would never, on their LIFE do a backdown. Ever. It was charming, when it was just a character, but then we all kinda learned that's who they ACTUALLY are.

Pat's just the same skeptic cynic he always was, Woolie is funny man Woolie but his older age made him mellow out and become less entertaining. Matt married a radical liberal b**** and ever since has not been entertaining or really had a personality. All the funny in Matt disappeared, and because his wife hated Pat anyway. Liam was just weird or boring 90% of the time, and I stil wonder if there is any truth about him being a sex offender. Pat joking about this with him is what ended his time in the Zaibatsu.
