I find that the Hissho needs to focus on food and dust production early game to fund large navies mid-game. You need large navies for to get Keii to expand, trying to expand without constant war is almost hopeless. The good news is that the Hissho get full benefit from a conquered system immediately, and you can take as many systems as you like, as quickly as you like. But you do need to prepare for this explosive mid game expansion early, or you wont have the infrastructure and economy to get it rolling.

Yeah definitly, it's what i have done in my Hissho endless walkthrough and it worked just like a charm. When you have the economy, Hissho are just unstoppable.

I really enjoy your very vocal explorations of the new mechanics: ES2 is so complex now, with so many systems, that a new player like myself, coming to grips with everything in play at once, benefits from watching a slower, more measured approach to playing. It's a good way to pick up useful tips!

You know the Cravers are coming because the Hissho taste like chicken.

Suggestion: see the available laws per party before choosing the party. It is not only safer, but, in some cases, some laws are completely different depending on your faction.

I was surprised you didn't update your Hawk template with at least one of those Hyperium lasers before you queued up the second group to deal with those Cravers.

I was wondering if the thing where you can send food and production from a province back to your home system is to ensure that you can constantly keep up your sacrifices to the Sun God (ie: its a coping mechanism so that you can catch up with food to keep growing your capital and dont lose too much production). If you think about the Aztec Empire, which these guys are partly inspired by, that is what the Aztecs would do. Conquer more territory and constantly send back captives (willing or unwilling) to the capital to be sacrificed.

As Hamnli already commented before. I also think you should get more food for its major purpose, as well as its minors. The war with Cravers is here. Bring the mediums in mass, and show the entire galaxy that a Hissho's honour is just as deadly as its blade.

Behemoths seem to be a major mechanic introduction, don't think anyone saw that coming
@Mulzaro896 жыл бұрын
Almost too major to be honest. Like one fifth of the tech tree is solely behemoth techs. First I thought they would be a bit like EL guardians but they are not even close. The behemoths are a very big part of the economy too.
@sdauz6 жыл бұрын
Mulzaro89 it might be too early to say if it's for good or ill, personally I don't mind them too much. I'm glad they're not just a gimmick just for oblitorators. Also with mining probes, I don't need to colonise crap systems
@Mulzaro896 жыл бұрын
Yes they are definately interesting. Just need some balancing and polish.

I found the amount of food you get from having a Devoted level of Keii makes a big difference in population growth rates, especially for the first 50 turns or so.

Keii = Key Now I think about it, the developers probably chose that word as it unlocks things.

With the keii system replacing system loyalty does that mean you can have an infinite number of systems as long as you have high keii?
@Wustenfuchs1096 жыл бұрын
Technically, yes. But with each system over your limit, the cost of developing a colony goes up. A few systems above your limit and you won't be able to pay the development cost. But you can conquer systems as much as you like.

Does the obsidian eagle buff stack if you have a system in the Keii radius? So you would get +45% industry? That seems pretty broken if it does.
@graventhered6 жыл бұрын
Mulzaro89 but you're burning the resource that keeps your people in line and have no real way to mitigate that except through battle used right, it looks awesome, but mess it up and I could see it ending very poorly

Nevermind. The obsidian eagle buff is nothing compared to how broken miner and science behemoths are atm :D

i actually tried this game in the free weekend. i had fun but they really gotta make the UI friendlier. the science wheel is a nightmare.

If you can't find a tech on the wheel just use the search bar on the bottom to find it.

im very aware of this but i shouldnt have to search for it. this is what a friendly UI is.

If you need help understanding the game then i would recommend going over to the official forums. Everyone there is super helpful and the devs frequently reply to questions. I learned most of what i know about the game there.www.games2gether.com/endless-space-2/forums/65-general Also remember to turn the tutorials on if you need it. This game is a little overwhelming at first. Got steamrolled in my first few games. But once you understand how it all works its really fun.

Do the Unfallen get an early Citadel ability? In my both current game and yours, I see an Unfallen system with what looks like a very early Citadel up.
@joriskuhl89446 жыл бұрын
It's not a Citadel, it's a building called system shields that protects you from obliterators (50% damage). You can build it normally. A citadel comes with a free system shield, stacking with a built one for 100% resistance. As for the Unfallen, they start with system shields, hence the visual effect.
