that is one of the reason why she agreed to be part of SWF contestant. if you watch or read the their showcase she said the PD told her the reason about that show which is to bring the dance crews to get more recognition widely, to give more spotlight to them who work mostly bhind the scenes. i believe that is also a reason why they casted these judges bcs the contestants themselves are already professional artists with less exposure. i am so happy now that many peoples recognizing them and they got invited to many shows since the SWF ended with success.

The fierce look is just for show. Monika as the most senior really put herself as protector of dancing profesion. That's why all the SWF dancers looked up to her although her harsh words. And we audience wasn't fooled either. We understand all her remarks were only for the good of all participants. But knowing her mother once sided with Noze & compared her to Aiki is such a funny facts LOL

Oh, a lot of the audience was fooled. like, even her mom... it is funny now, but try picturing having a call with your mother, and your mother insulting you... that must have been tough for her. @@zzzonline I don't know the exact wording, I am just basing it from what Monika herself said, through the english translation "she was shouting and cursing at me". After knowing Aiki's struggle behind the scenes, made me respect her even more. She once said she feels lonely because she was considered as an outsider in the dance community, also she received side-eyes for being a mom. Part of the dance community dislike her for becoming famous without having to go through the old traditional way. She said she entered many competitions in Korea but her team dance genre (Hip hop x Latin) wasn't well known. It was hard to get recognised. Her dance video exploded in overseas and got over 12M views which WOD then invited them to participate. She wanted to get recognition outside Korea first. Now hearing how she also had a hard time with her in-laws kinda makes me sad. She so bright and cheerful. Fighting Aiki, you have so many people supporting you now. All the best 💪🏻

I really enjoyed this interview and i am so glad dancers are starting to get recognition for their expression and hard work. it's really not easy being a dancer in this day and age but i'm glad it's getting better. it's really wholesome that monika's mother really scolded her for being 'rude', and it's true that many people felt really offended by the things she said, but i always thought that she was more real than anyone, because she was willing to tell you the ugly things to your face. she seems like a strict leader but you've also seen when she's yelling and encouraging others so i hope people understand that sometimes the strictest people have the softest hearts. it's unfortunate the other leaders weren't here but can't wait for more swf content and will continue to support my girls!

It is not seen as profession but because of their dedication (all of the dancers back then) the street dance are being alive for years until now. They always had street battles, performances etc. And im really glad they are now called dancers not back up dancers. Its really hurtful sometimes when you saw some comments that this singer, this idol etc dance better than the backup dancers.
