If the evidence is cut and dry, they need to be held accountable the day after they are sentenced, NOT wait decades for taxpayers, which cost 70k approx a year for an inmate, to pay while the victims get no justice. IF the time finally comes, everyone is up in arms because they forgot what the crime was and NO justice gets done because they are let go or get a stay. Excellent point MM!!

My cousin survived a lethal injection dose because they either didn't prescribe him enough or something like that I'm not sure, but he said the pain was horrible. He said he was paralyzed and felt like the inside of his body was on fire. He ended up surviving this ordeal and says he would rather die being burnt alive vs lethal injection. Says it's the worst thing and pain he ever experienced in life.

Sparky used to work like clockwork back in the day, but something that we all forget is the state and federal constitutions and the right to appeal. Once the appellate state courts are exhausted, then it's on to the federal courts of appeal all the way up, should they decide to hear it, the USSC. What with court dockets overburdened with appeals for all kinds of cases, not just death penalty, it takes a long time for the process to be carried out.

Exactly! Had to put down my dog last year. Held her throughout the procedure...catheter, a drug to make her relaxed, which in her case wasn't needed and then her angel wing drug. She was gone in seconds. So, why can't we rid the tax payers of these poor excuses for humans. Note: the only crime my dog was guilty of was getting too old.

Just finished reading about one of the Viking kings some 1200 years ago that decided to punish his enemy by stuffing an adder down said enemy's throat.
