@G Kaur At present the adhatiyas are also doing the same thing. They give proper price to big farmers and very little to small farmers. Inturn these little farmers are compelled to sell their products to adhatiyas on cheap rates or to the big farmers on little more to the big farmers. Moreover this adhatiyas sitting in mandi fix the rates on arrival of farmers in mandi. For which the transportation are to be beared by the farmers. When the purchase will be in open market than these adhatiyas has to go to the farmers if they will receive proper price they will sell other wise not. This will not onlycreak the monopoly of adhatiyas. But also make them to go to the farmers to purchase the product. Since now they are making money sitting in mandi after bill they have work move out side mandi. So they want their monopoly. This is my personal observation during visit to mandi . Not imagine like so called farmers leaders like yogendra yadav etc.

Mr Dave has not only exposed himself but also is trying to avoid from contempt of court for absence on the verdict day. He wants to escape the fact the he gave assurance for jan 26 and the andolan parties have different intent. So he is in a fix for giving wrong assurance. The entire PIL was only to evict because anytime there was a feasibility if violence AFTE what happened in Karnal and speech of Mr Gurnam 'to storm the Parliament'. Also Mr Takait repeatedly said tank aur tractor saath Parade karenge.' In fact he has 'lied' to the court.

@Honest Life Talk law can only be stated unconstitutional when it violates fundamental rights or is against federalism (more specifically when the central govt is making law when it don’t have any jurisdiction). Now, this law don’t violate any fundamental right and as far as the jurisdiction is concerned, trade and commerce of foodstuff is in the concurrent list meaning both the state govt and the central govt can make laws on it. (Check entry 33 of the 7th schedule of the constitution) and if the central govt makes any law it will automatically override the state govt law. So there you go and yes I do have legal knowledge and no I don’t bark like you. I am a well informed citizen and know what is right and what is wrong because I just don’t blindly follow anyone like you, I read and make my own decisions! (And if you think that it is unconstitutional because the way it was passed in the Rajya sabha, then go and read article 122 of the constitution. It states that Supreme Court can’t interfere in parliamentary proceedings!) Hope you get that right dumbo!

The lokpal is staying at a hotel for some years now! Also the central vista is a private land owned by the govt, they are just trying to include every department in it, stopping the rent, also, the parliament building is more than 100 years old and it is not known whether it’s earthquake safe or not, there are no structural designs available. As a precaution and a matter of safety, new building was to be built. Not to forget that after demarcation, there won’t be space available for the mps. The project is cost effective!

I completely agree with their position on the sci wading into the executive power but I think the considerations in the specific matter of trade and commerce that infringes on state subjects has an additional consideration when deliberating constitutionality of any given legislation. That consideration has been outlined in precedents as being an assessment of public interest. That flows from the idea that state subjects have inherent powers pursuant to the constitution and only in certain circumstances can that power be infringed on by the center. Because agriculture acts are affecting inter and intra trade and commerce for the public at large, not any one state, this might be that exceptional circumstance in which if it is in he public best interest to implement these laws then the center is within it's right to legislate them....correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's the precise purpose of the committee, to assess the public interest factor. So perhaps the court is attempting to carry out its duties and we need to analyze their position once again.

When a legislation is enacted in conflict of the constitution that in itself is s violation of a "fundamental" right afforded by a constitution. For example everything embedded in the constitution is in essence fundamental, it is supreme and all else that attempts to conflict with it must give way to the constitution-the supreme court is the adjudicator of that scenario and where a conflict is found and cannot be saved under common law exception then it must be declared ultra vires. So your argument that any law enacted by the center must over ride any state subject powers is immature and would render the concept of federalism obsolete. The center is not more powerful in federalism, it may have broader jurisdiction but the concept of federalism is in essence a mechanism to protect states and prevent over reach by the center. Ps: I too have legal knowledge, just not from Indian

You missed the most important point in this context, and many people seem to miss it too, deliberately I guess: - it's inarguably the most credible institution of this land, probably the only one who can break the existing deadlock. If not SC then who? I wonder how all "legal" experts are missing the point that The SC didn't even comment on the legal aspects of the law, probably because the petition didn't bring that up. The SC also didn't comment on the legality of the protests, given that right to protest exists but right to disrupt doesn't. Finally, The SC made it clear that it isn't constituting the committee for negotiations or meditations, much to the dislike of the protesters I guess. It constituted it for it's own understanding of the laws, and that anyone can record his/her concerns, so that it can decide it's own future course of action. Now, one can always claim to be a bigger "expert" on economics than the chosen panel, for them I can only say that probably The SC doesn't thinks so. At the end, it's much better that The SC swings into action now rather than after something like the Delhi riots happens and it does become a legal issue and then everybody starts blaming The SC for it's reactive attitude. However, this have messed up the grand plans of the Left for sure, no wonder they are fuming. They stand exposed as now everybody can approach the committee and get their views recorded. No more boycotting of critical media, channels, anchors, suppression of voices in support of the law. We all saw what they did to Khattar's Maha Panchayat, they demanded that anybody and everybody should talk only and only to them. I can't stop laughing thinking what they would be doing now, would they ransack The SC also? Couldn't miss how Dave says The SC is wading into politics with this move, All this while the protesters have been saying that this protest has nothing to do with politics. I wonder how an apolitical protest being looked into an apolitical institution results as wading into politics. Only "great" minds like Dave can reach to such conclusions, I'm almost in awe of his intellect.

Don't worry mate, there are lots and lots and lots of people like me who are appreciating it's course of action. Though we are all for institutional independence and an institution being restricted to it's own domain, we prefer The SC swinging into action now rather than when there's a riot and precious lives are lost. Nothing is more precious than a life, I guess family members of those killed in the Delhi riots last year, they would be rather complaining why The SC wasn't such proactive then. The SC also asked the same question in it's proceedings, if violence breaks out and people die, who would be responsible? Would Dave take the responsibility? or any of those champagne liberals who can't stop hollering how The SC has trampled beyond it's jurisdiction. No, they won't. It's the classic political gaming of the Left, they nurture violence and then force the govt. into submission, but this time The SC messed up their plans.

However, I don't agree with your thought that stopping traffic, privilege for the rich are less important things. They are the real reasons why such infiltration happens. Any institutional head isn't born as a head. He or she isn't born of a different kind of a womb, there isn't a different kind of process that gives birth to such people, isn't it? The person who now sits on the top chair, he or she has been born and brought up in this very society and such traffic blocking for VVIPs, such preferential treatment for the already privileged only gives a sense of entitlement when one does reach such high posts. But what's the point of blaming them when we ourselves have moulded their mind and thought process. Can you refer me to one single person who wont happily given if an eight figure amount is proposed to him or her? Sir, if the judge of Supreme Court is a Hindu, does that mean he will favour only the Hindus? What you are doing is taking away the credibility of these people by labelling them pro or anti. If they are experts in the field of agriculture of course they are going to have a view about something related to their field. Farmers now have the golden opportunity to mend these bill in their way by talking to a non-govt appointed committee. And not to forget, the committee will submit the report to the court and not to the govt
