SCAD and Genetics (PHACTR1) - Dr David Adlam

I met Dr Adlam in Leicester just over five years ago. I was with my sister who had been revived from a cardiac arrest which turned out to be caused from SCAD on the LAD. It was incredible she survived. Fortunately she was in A&E being tested for a heart attack. ECG was normal but the blood results for cardiac biomarkers were not yet back. She has since been diagnosed with connective tissue disorder and so has her daughter. Her granddaughter has been diagnosed with EDS. I have to wonder if CTD puts one more at risk of a SCAD episode. Also, I hear you are no longer at Leicester Dr Adlam. Where are you and are you still practicing ?

My Grandma died at 57 from heart attack. My mum died from brain heommorage at 71, 8 yrs ago and my sister had a stroke at at age 55 five yrs ago. I had my SCAD 3 weeks ago age 57.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Migraines, check. Family history of other types of heart attacks, check. A variant for celiac disease was found when I had my DNA analyzed as well.
