Hi! Parking at Victory is actually pretty good. There are 3 floors of parking and I haven’t heard about too much trouble finding space. I think bringing your car is a good idea, but Savannah roads/drivers can be kinda chaotic sometimes.

Hi Adrian! I'd say that SCAD has been a good experience for me so far. I'm actually in a screenwriting for animation class right now! It's, without a doubt, my favorite class here at SCAD. In my experience, I've had a lot of fun working on projects and meeting cool people. The catch is that the curriculum can get reaallly intense and busy. The workload can get a pretty heavy, so prioritizing mental health is a biggie if you choose to go here or any art school for that matter. My son just got assigned to Surf in a 4 person shared bedroom, can you please share with me the size of the space under the beds? It looks like they are twin beds also? Is this type of room the one that has two bathrooms? Can you share what type of storage you have like rolling carts or shelves or plastic drawers for supplies and stuff? What is in the closet? Is it a bar to hang clothes and drawers for folded clothes? I can’t really tell from the video. I appreciate any help that you can provide! Thanks so much!

Hi! To answer your questions: - I don't know the exact size of the space under the bed, but it is able to fit two large luggages, a couple carry on luggages, and a piano. It's a LOT of space. - They are twin beds. - This is the type of room that has two bathrooms. I share a bathroom with my roommate and the other bathroom is shared by the other two people. - Since I'm an animation student pretty far into my major, I don't have a lot of traditional art supplies anymore, so I keep most of my supplies in a big tote container that I keep under my desk. There is also side table space, a little bit of desk space, and space on top of the closet. - The closet has a bar for hangers and a couple of shelves. No drawers for clothes. If your son wants more organization, I recommend getting some kind of divider or organizer. If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to help!

@@BalbertAnimation I was also wondering if you think a 3 drawer plastic bin that is 22” wide would fit on one side of the bedroom next to the desk and closet area? We are buying our supplies now for the room. Thanks again for your help

@@casieberan5744 I think you should be able to fit it somewhere in the room. It MIGHT be a little bit of a tight squeeze, since you might be running up close to the opening of the closet door. But you're always free to rearrange the furniture in the room to however you like, so I'm sure you could figure out a configuration that works. I know that one of my roommates has arranged his desk area to allow for a small 3-drawer metal bin to keep his supplies, but it's only about a foot wide and a foot and two feet long.

Hi, I am attending SCAD as well, though I am still in my Freshman year. I just want to ask when you mean by "Upperclassman" do you mean 2nd year and above or 3rd year and above because I am interested in living there too

Hi! I believe Victory is available to 2nd years and above, space permitting. Since housing is based on number of credits, the more senior students get earlier pick.

Hey weird question- but how strict is security in dorm buildings? Only asking in case I want me friend or boyfriend who don’t attend SCAD to come stay the night

Tbh, SCAD security isn't the most consistent, but they can be pretty tight. As of right now, due to COVID, outside visitors (as in, non-SCAD students), aren't allowed in the buildings. Will that change? Not sure.

Hi Lin! SCAD has a lot of resources in regards to security and getting around the city safely. If there are any security threats, every student is notified immediately and updated regularly. Just like any city, Savannah has its good areas and its bad areas. Areas closer to downtown/the historic district tend to be safer than those further away. I wouldn’t recommend walking around alone at night in the further away areas. In my experience, I haven’t had many bad experiences in the city, but I do tend to stay away from areas outside of downtown and try not to walk at night.

Hi! Yes, Barnard Village is actually just down the street from Victory. I use the bus stop there a lot. I'd say it's equally safe as Victory Village, since it's in the same area. I'd argue it's a little bit safer because it's further from Montgomery Street and Victory Street, which are very busy streets. It's gated off from the rest of the area, so you can rest assured it's pretty safe.

It depends on where you'll be spending most of your time. Victory and Barnard are close to Montgomery Hall (animation building), Arnold Hall (dramatic writing building), and Wallin Hall (foundations building). Chatham and Boundary are closer to downtown.
