Attention Scag sfc21 223 cc walk behind owners. I have a question to any owners of this unit. I have one, and was just cleaning the bag inside and out. I noticed there is a sack/pocket type thing only on one side. It is filled with something soft. So, I'm wondering if Scag filled it with something for weight balance or something, or if it's grasses and sand inside this sack like thing sewed in? I'm really confused about this. There is a significant amount of weight in this sack, but there is no access to the inside of the sack. This sewed in sack only on one side of the bag.

@daryldaryl887 That is a great question! This mesh sack/pocket acts as the vent so grass can flow freely into the bag. Only air is meant to travel through this sack/pocket. Think of it as the vent hole on a gas can in order to keep the gas from "gluggling" when you pour. Keep it clean and free of debris and you should get better performance. Please. I need help installing the mulch plug. How do you do it? Either I have the wrong mulch plug or my brain's not working. Please help me out.

At about the 1:38 minute mark we show installing the mulch plug. Just requires a little elbow grease to get it all the way in place.

Looks like a great machine. Have you been able to mulch thick wet grass with it or leaves? I have a Toro commercial 21. I've been considering the Scag 21 but we don't have too many dealers in Canada where I am. I also wanted to see how it performs compared to my Toro which is an excellent mower. Thank You.

We have, and being the Scag distributor, we can say we have had zero reports of issues in the field. All Scag SFC21 models come with a true commercial grade engine, which makes a world of difference when dealing with less then ideal conditions.

@@KPMExceptional That's great to hear. I hope you put out some more videos on this machine. Kohler 224 cc engine is a nice set up but I prefer the Kawasaki engine on my Toro (FJ180v Kai).
