Another excellent video! I liked seeing your alignment jigs, it takes a creative mind to think those up from scratch. I like that you cover multiple genres of models in your building. I like 1/32 aircraft and 1/200 ships as well as various scales of wooden ship models. Thanks again!

Awesome philosophy of modeling. Sometimes I spend too much time on painting and weathering my model and not enough on the geometry. I know that doing your own model from wood can be challenging because of the tools and free space it requires but all the other tips can be and should be followed even if I use a standard plastic kit.

Paul, I enjoy learning from you presentations. I have built models since I was very young (a LONG time ago) so I am very familiar with most of the mistakes that can be made. Thank you for such great videos. I was wondering as I watched if that was the Air Museum at Castle. I live about 35 minutes from there and I can tell I need to go visit again. I know one thing, you could take a piece of pvc pipe and make the greatest model of a submarine or aircraft anybody could ever hope to see. Reminds me of my best friend Don Promnitz, he’s the same way. Build anything from scratch and it looks as good or better than anything you could possibly bye in a kit. Thank You again for a well reasoned and concise presentation. To not complain about a kits short fallings, railing against the manufacturers? Extreme thinking there. Do a planned correction using whatever material to accomplish the needed correction is so simple, I usually totally for get it. Perhaps I can save some "negative energy" in my modeling if I just follow your advice. LOL

I agree. I'd rather have poor details on a kit than having a misshapen one. I usually rely on photos - lots of them... - when I judge the shape of a kit.

Brilliant Paul, simply brilliant. It would appear that the manufacturers used to think your way? Get the shape right first and foremost.. take all the old Revell/Monogram Bombers for example. These days it seems to be all about getting the kit out there, with as much gimicky crap as you can get in there and make every panel poseable but not fit very well. It seems that so many modern kits have poorly shaped noses for example???

Awesome videos. Could you please include putty topic in your scribing video? I'm in my second scale aircraft, the first one I messed up by scribing terrible, irregular panel lines in places that needed filling.
