Hi Everyone.
Here I am building Tamiya's brilliant new 1/48 Lockheed P-38G Lightning. I use a few Eduard upgrades during the build.
Eduard upgrades sets are:
SIN64866 Big Sin
Eduard Brassin Lightning Nose Gun Bay 648533
Eduard Big-Ed set 49240
This is my second upload, thank you to all who have subscribed to the channel after viewing my first video. All the positive comments have been gratefully received and it's giving me lots of motivation to do many more.
This build took a while but I'm pretty please with the finished model.
Everything I use in the video was paid for by myself and there is no paid promotion.
I hope you enjoy watching and maybe get some inspiration for your own builds.
If you would like to follow me on instagram:

Cheers.

Amazing build and video showing all process! love your way of working and how you show the technics and tools used, also, I love the detail to be able to hear some times the sounds of the working process like the airbrush, air booth, sanding, cleaning...etc I can't wait to see the next one!

An absolutely super build and as for the extra detailing you have carried out throughout the build its self. Well it really has lifted this model to another dimension. A fantastic video which is both informative and extremely helpful to anyone just starting out with modeling as well as those people who are seasoned professionals alike. Highly recommended to anyone interested in modeling.

Really great job! Love the detail and workmanship. For the future, the rearview mirror housing was green, and I would add chipping to the leading edges and the prop blades as well. Lastly, the rear glass hoops were also painted green in the A/C. This is a pretty fantastic build and video. Thanks for posting.

My late grandpa (dad's side) was a P-38 pilot. It's a shame, this style of airplane isn't talked about, much. Very nicely done, model, by the way. It's kind of mesmerizing, watching these get assembled.

Magnificent rendition of my favorite WWII fighter, the detail is superb. For those who don't know, "Miss Virginia" was the plane flown by Lt. Rex Barber that on 18 April 1943 shot down the Japanese "Betty" bomber carrying Admiral Yamamoto, the man who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Most interesting! I remember as a youth reading about this truly astounding event! Thank you for the refresher. Build one of these kits, then a Tamiya kit in 1:48th scale of the Mitsubishi Type 11 Isshikkirikko (Betty) Japanese Air Force Medium Bomber (61049). Please tell us about such a project. I strongly recommend motorising the engines and including in both the appropriate personnel. One can design the two stands and the electric wiring conduit in a manner that keeps them out of view from the front. Look up the term "Chapman crane" from motion picture production, and adapt it to this purpose.

Impressive! I thought that I spent time on the details. Those turbos came out great. The white in the exhaust so many people leave out it's an effect of the lead additive not common to all planes but more than people think.

Very well done! Appreciate the additional detailing that you included. I’ve got this in the stash, really looking forward to it. If I may make one minor suggestion, some chipping on the wing leading edges might have felt right at home, given the wear shown elsewhere; the edges behind the props especially took a lot of debris hits from makeshift airfields. Thanks for the quality video!

It's very exiting to see your expert assembly with different paints and tools. I am just a retired old man and is just assembling my childhood bobby. The problem is in my country ( Burma/Myanmar) there is no Hobby Model shops. So had to buy some kits and some paints whenever I visit Singapore. I had no spray gun also. So most of my models are hand painted , and as I don't know which paint will dd be needed for models, its a head ache to try to figure out with paints available. The most available are enamel and oil paints. Its helpful to see your video. , I try to see on You Tube of real aircrafts for reference.. .Thank you.

Ever since I was a kid, I always had a problem with p 38bkits being VERY tail heavy. For a 1/32 build, I remember my dad putting a penny inside the nose. Solved the problem. Anything small with a bit of weight but not too heavy will do.

This is easily the best, most realistic build of a P-38 I've seen! Incredibly well done. I think it would be helpful if, in the video notes, you listed all the products (paints, tools, etc.) you used. I'm personally just getting back into scale modeling after.... a lot.... of years away from it, and having a list of paints & tools would be helpful. Keep up the awesome work and videos!!

Fantastic detail! Gorgeous paint! This model belongs in a diorama! I am an armor modeler who has be dormant since 1989. I'm just coming back to modeling and I would like to do an aircraft. My uncle Frank flew P-38s in the South Pacific in WWII. I am putting this kit on the buy list and starting my research to make an diorama to depict his service. Thank you for the spark that ignited an idea that may bloom into a real project. Keep the videos coming. Regards, Ed

Excellent skills all around...painting, detailing, modification and an eye for detail. I didn't know about the 'chipping' product that can be activated using water. That is a very innovative product for detailing models. I always enjoy the 'extras' you include in your build like the metal parts and how they're formed. Do you do aircraft exclusively or do you build other types as well like science fiction models? I would love to see you do a NCC-1701 Enterprise (Star Trek) or even better, the NCC-1701A which is my favorite of all the Starfleet versions. I would like to see you do a few Gundam models but your version and not necessarily a box cover reproduction. I know many modelers do them, but I miss videos from one older modeler who was the best I've ever seen. He lived in Japan and the KZbin channel was called Sleeply Lafiel (or something close to that). I watched those videos everyday. I think your skill in modeling is very comparable to the person in those older videos. Thank you for this video. I enjoyed it very much.

Very very nice job on that kit (I have 2 of the F/G and 1 of the Limited edition H kits) One small point, when you were mounting the nose Guncovers, I noticed that the support bar between them was still interior Green, and not OD. That was an exterior panel when closed up as it was the hinge support as well as the nose cone alignment support. 42.44 for example.... Other than that a really fantastic job on Rex Barber's plane.
