Scalextric Arc One base unit - installing and testing

Having received my Scalextric Arc one base unit, I now install it and test to see how it works.

Fantastic. Those Lamborghini Gallardo's handle great out of the box great choice! The only cars we run that lap faster out of the box and carry ridiculous corner speed are the Audi R10's and the Peugeot 908 HDI FAP's. Great series,looking forward to what you do next.:)

The dials on the controllers are physical limiters for trigger movement. The end result is max power control, but they can fail if you pull the trigger hard enough. Fortunately, you can disconnect the controller connections inside the base, and use another base to actually control the cars, even club style controllers, if you want. The app from Scalextric is not the best. Check out the MAGIC ARC Pro app (also free) for more features. Some of the features you mentioned don't apply to ARC One. For example, there's no way for the ARC One to change the power to your car. For that, you'll need the ARC Air, or ARC Pro.

@@johnny-S Here is a link on how to add "brakes" to the ARC ONE: www.scalextric.com/uk-en/forum/post/view/topic_id/7984/?p=2 You can then use your old analog powerbase. Personally I prefer ARC AIR as it also adjusts the acceleration curve and has more features like the car slowing down when a tire blows or runs out of fuel... :-)

Interesting - I should buy the Scaltextric Arc to get my cars out running again! What happend to the 10 laps test? Did it show you all times for each of the ten laps?

Does that base work on the old scalextric/hornby track

The connections are for the newer version of the track. However it may work if you get a converter kit and insert it into the track that way as it only looks for the car passing over the sensor. Thanks for watching.

What device and operating system are you using? I could not connect the arc one base to my mobile devices

I am using the Android OS on a cheap ('Teclast') Android pad. But I'm now switching to the Carrera light bridge timer because the Arc wont work with some brands of cars. Thanks for watching.

Top speed for the fastest lap as opposed to the speed for the average lap?

There is a problem with the way this timer works - as the faster cars (like NSR) tend to send it haywire. So I'm now only counting fastest average laps (until I get new timing gear). Thanks for watching.
