Thanks for the comment- and glad you liked it. I am hoping to do a few more scalextric ones- I recently got a "mini scalextric" set- and will do a video on getting it up n running. Yorky

Hi , try giving it a good clean / oil first-if that doesn't work- try the trick- but be careful not to break any parts. Yorky

Can I have a sport power supply with sport controllers and digital power supply with digital controllers connected to the same track to swap from one to the other but obviously switching off the power of unused option and disconnecting while not in use? Thanks in advance
@yorkknight
@yorkknight 2 жыл бұрын
Hi- as long as you are disconnecting/ swapping controllers n supply - it should work fine. Y

Just got a track for my kids, wondering what advantages on changing the car to digital? Is it so it can work on other tracks? Completely clueless about the hobby, so plenty of questions.

Digital allows you to change tracks -if you have the right track sections that allow it aswell. Hope that helps. Ray

@@yorkknight another question, I seen somewhere that I can add a "speed" dimmer to control the top speed, but don't find any info about it, any idea about it? And second, would it be better with two power supply's? The track that I was given its about 6 meters long. Thank you
@yorkknight
@yorkknight 3 жыл бұрын
@@_WARL0CK_ 6 meters will be fine- 10 meters or above you need to modify power etc. The speed dimmers are for micro scalextric only- as far as Im aware. Heres a good forum for questions and answers - www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=103378&page=2

@@yorkknight I would pick up a wooden paint stirring stick from your local supplier and sand the edge for fitting. Then simply rub the stick back and forth, giving that the wood will present far less chance of damaging the metal conduit inlay. As you mentioned, that particular track section had received damage somewhere along the line and it was just passed off. Thanks for your channel.

Never seen should crap in all my life. Analog cars do work on digital track with the ARC Pro lap counter 6 cars. Or two analog and the way you are talking you don’t know enough info or calling the right bits as you say as what they are.

Hi- you tell me why the analogue car doesnt work when I tried it then? Its there to see on the video.

@@yorkknight depends on the type of analogue car, I accidently knocked out all of my lights on my McLaren C12 as it wasn't fitted with a chip by putting it on my digital sport track, meaning to put it on my normal sport track, (I forgot to remove all the digital elements) I also put my BMW M3 police car on it and it blew the horn out which kinda did me a favour as I was fed up with that noise, and realised so took the car off quick and was ok except for the horn sound. if it has no chips whatsoever basically all cars before the early 2000's I know your ok on plain Sport track. I don't have the arc system just Sport, Sport digital and the OG stuff. so I cannot speak for the ARC system and I think that's where some confusion lies here..... normal cars do not run on sport digital tracks that's for sure, you have to take away the digital elements (IE: the straights, pit lane sections and overtaking bends along with the main base unit (swapping this out for a plain sport base unit which is for only 2 cars, or an og base unit) and any pieces of track with the sensors in it.... leaving only the normal sport track behind. Then any car in theory should run on it... I think this is due to the fact that people get confused with the 4 versions that scalextric has done over the years, and only assume it's 3 systems. So from the OG stuff 1990's and prior.... when they changed the connections on the Scalextric Sport or Digital they are the same track types but the power bases are different. It is only the powerbase and throttles that make them different, then you have the new ARC system too totalling 4 different systems for the 1:32 scale, but they can be made to work together mostly, even with the OG stuff (I have about 5 sets of OG scalextric and have even issues with this old track due to the differing power bases available throughout the 70's 80's and 90's that they came with), some of the outputs are different too so always check the AC adaptor. I have loved Scalextric since I was a small kid - I'm now 52 so I have a little experience behind me. one other thing, the digital cars do run on OG track and plain sport track too but again check the power output of the track beforehand due to the power differences ranging from 12V 16V & 19V on different systems. (I think I've also had a 9V system in the past but cannot fully remember) I don't know about the ARC system power supply but I'd assume it must be 16V to run the sport digital track for compatibility! one other thing Ninco 1:32 cars run great on scalextric systems just as an aside, so if you have any Ninco cars (I know other cars work too such a Policars, SCX which is tied to scalextric sport anyway, Carrera (you need to get the soldering iron out for swapping Carrera sport digital cars to Scalextric sport digital and vice versa) but all work fine.... I do have a preference for Scalextric over Carrera personally as I like the style of track more even though it isn't as wide, but you can get extensions for the Scalextric system to make the track wider, I also prefer the throttle controllers of Scalextric over Carreras which is a horrible plunger style controller and I personally feel the trigger and the 2 button version with Scalextric Sport digital is still the best, as you do feel like you have more control. I hope someone finds this info useful anyway....
