I believe there's a new scam starting..I got a text from a lawyer saying he was the attorney for his decease client Edward Long,well my dead husband's dad was EDWARD LONG,but he died years ago .but this man so called died in a car accident at 56 yrs.and this lawyer said He needed me to contact him as I was the only one that could be his hier.that way it would keep the state from taking the money.I never did contact him.....then a week later I got another text saying I Was the her of his late client.gave no name & wanted me to contact him.I never did....the other lawyer txt that he was in Belgium....this last one didn't give where he was at.

I think a lot of people give the white house address ..I have..one idiot fell for it and googled the address .. he said ma'am this says you have 16 bedrooms . I said AND?.. he was trying to sell alarm systems. I yelled at him and told him that he asked how many doors I had ..not bedrooms .. one asked me if I lived with Joe Biden ..lol.. I'm so glad to hear you were able to stop it. Be aware that they may call her back as several different entities trying to scam her - a lawyer, a delivery driver, the IRS, her bank, FBI, any government agency, etc. She needs to basically hang up on every call from an unknown number for a while.

@@gina-bg7kr I got a similar call where the scammer told me that an arrest warrant was issued for me and my husband because of IRS error. I told the scammer to send the documents and I would take care of the issue when they mailed them to me. He started to scream at me, “Madam, the magistrate has issued the arrest warrant.” I just calmly kept talking to the scammer and he just kept screaming at me. After an hour or so, he finally gave up.

I called Publishers Clearing House and was told that they NEVER call OR ask for money. I have a fun time with them too when they call me. After a long while I finally scream at them and tell them that Publishers Clearing House “DOES NOT CALL PEOPLE “, and don’t call me ever again, but they have several times. They obviously don’t converse with their associates, ( in crime ) !!!

My dad was 86 yrs. old and got a call that he won a large sum of money and to receive his gift he needed to send so much money for them to process. I asked daddy what did you do? I was nervous about his response. His answer, he said I told them to just subtract the amount from my winnings and send the rest to me. Then I asked what did they say. NOTHING! They slammed the phone down! Good response for recuperating from a stroke.

When I get these calls, I toy around with them for a bit and then when they ask me for any kind of information I tell them, "Hang on, let me get that for you." Then I set the phone down and never go back. I want to take up as much of their time as possible without them taking up my time, lol.

Just watched a news interview about two people being scammed by PCH, one for # $225,000 and another for $ 661,000 made me heart sick. Major exposure is crucial. The recent Medicare replacement card call attempted to work " reports of scamming into thier scripts. I felt a sense of frustration in his voice, as I ran him around the block. Thier scared thier days are coming to an end. Keep up the good work.

Don’t forget the romance scammers as well. My 59 year old sister is now homeless, living in her car bc of romance scams that r still going on!!! You read right!!! I said scans pleural!!! She list her home, was divorced from her hysband bc of it, all her retirement money, over $400,000 and is now giving them most of the $3400 she gets monthly.. she can’t seem to understand that they are fake, and still listens to them which is why her own family can’t take her in. We jerp asking her to get help but she doesn’t think she is mentally ill. Usually people learn from mistakes but she keeps making g them.

This lady is a pure joy. Another thing to be aware of is if you’re asked can you hear them as if there’s a communication problem. Never, ever answer that question by saying “Yes”. It opens you up to them obtaining your personal info.

My boss took over the phone when we got one of these calls at work. When they mentioned the car, he started whooping & hollering & said, "Oh, my God! My wife has been wanting a new car! Hold on, Sir!" Then he yelled across the office, "Honey! Come here! We just won a new car!" Then...."Oh, Sir! My wife is SO excited! What color is it? Does it have leather seats? We are SO happy! Where IS the car? We're going to take the bus & come & GET it! What color is the inside? Do YOU have the keys?"....& he wouldn't let the scammer get a word in edgewise! "Wait until I tell my brother that I won a new car! My kids are going to flip out! My mother isn't going to BELIEVE this! We'll take the new car to see her this weekend!" The scammer finally just hubmng up on him! I laughed the rest of the day!

This hits close to home! They called me last week, but only said I’d won 2.6 million☹️and a new car. Then they tried to get my bank information. I got tired of talking so I told them where to stuff their car and money. Guess it hurt their feelings as they hung up on me. Take care people, scammers are out there and they want your money.

I work in a store and the scams are unreal! I have saved so many ppl from getting scammed! I had one guy come in to buy gift card and had the scammer on speaker phone and the scanner was yelling at me and kept telling my customer to just go to a different store. I told my customer to hang up and scammed kept trying to call them back...he thankfully reported them!
