Thank you for all of your videos. Recently, our company has obtained a Ricoh MP C401. I have been tasked with getting it all set up. I have the printer feature working correclty as everyone on our network has the ability to print. I am now working on the scanner feature and both scan to email and scan to folder is not working. For scan to email, I used a gmail account and used all the steps you provided in your video. After 10 minutes of scanning the document to email, I receive the message below. I've watched your video over 20 times and the only thing i can thing of is updating the firmware on the machine. However, I think that the scan to email feature should work regardless of what firmware is on the machine since we purchased the machine within 1-2 years ago. Any idea? Connection with the destination has failed. Error Message: Connection with the destination has failed. Check the status and connection. To check the current status, press [Scanned Files Status]

I should have said in the video that this is only good for 02 models of Ricoh machines. the 01 models and older do not have SSL for SMTP. Gmail won't work on the older models.

Hi there, my scan to email as per this setup stopped working recently. After a scan, I get a message that authentication has failed. I think it could be because my SMTP server now uses two factor authentication, ie it requires a password and pin number. Do you think that this is the problem, and if so, is there a work around?

Hi Brian, i have a Ricoh Aficio MPC3500 I have followed your method but iam not able to login as Administrator i tried all way but i still failing to reach the configuration. so , i need your help to remove the admin password to manage the scanning setting

There is only one way to change the administrator user name and password without replacing the NVRAM inside the machine. Instead of logging in with admin as the user name, use supervisor as the user name. Leave the password blank. When you have access to the supervisor account, select device management, then you'll proceed to configuration, under the device settings area you'll see a link that says Program/Change Administrator. This is the section when you can set the administrator user name and password.

I should also note that scanning to email using Gmail as the SMTP only works for 02 model Ricoh machines and newer.
