First thing I did when I got my quest 3 yesterday was scan my entire apartment except for one bedroom. And then I ran around like crazy trying to shoot all the little critters that came through the walls.

Only problem is internal doors when something is shown on the other side. I guess could extend the wall partially so can see the door closed.

Didn’t really work for me in my unit. I scanned the main living area and an adjacent bedroom. Once complete it made the entire space one big room! I put the wall in as a furniture object/shelf. I couldn’t get internal walls to drawn in though.

@@Twosplinters I need it basically to use in low light conditions. I have a small workshop, so to help me easily record fpv videos while actually seeing what you are doing I decided to get one of these. But, I am really curious how good can it perform in low light. If the only thing I need to see better is a small flashlight, then it’s totally fine. But, if image is still horrible, then idk haha. I believe oculus 3 is the best what I can get when it comes to passthrough

the current state of VR is like when doom came out in 1993, how everyone raved about how groundbreaking it is, well look at today’s graphics in comparison, 25-30 years down the line. VR will be similar imo, we’ll look back at the current VR tech as cute but ultimately extremely dated.

So do I get this right: This specific "manual" room scan is only available in mixed reality mode, right?! So when playing e.g. Minnigolf, which is a game in full VR (not mixed), the quest is using it`s "quick and dirty" scan, right?! I`m asking this as when playing such games (like Asgards Wrath2 or Minigolf) I always don`t see my wooden table as a barrier....it`s only this quick`n dirty scan from the quest...... without any objects....

The full scan is for mixed reality, so that MR apps can make use of your walls and whatever else they might want to. Setting the boundary for full VR only supports scanning the floor

There is a limit you can scan. It eventually will let you know you are about to max out the scan. Then it stops to save it.

I have a three bedroom house and while skipping the bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen, it stops scanning before I can finish the rest of the house. Pretty sure there's a limit to how much space it can scan. I've tried by scanning the large gaming room first, then the livingroom, then the hallway, then my office and either direction it ends early. Had to settle for the large gaming room where I play it most most anyway.

It's my 'office' (my computer is here and I used to work from home) down a hall, then livingroom and walk right into the game room. It gives up before I get the gameroom finished. No big deal. Just sticking to only the gameroom for now.

Fantastic video! So helpful. But what about the Guardian? Doesn't it limit how far it will let you go? I've disabled my guardian (by creating a developer account), so perhaps I wouldn't have that problem, but wouldn't most people have that problem?

I haven't found the developer menus in my Quest 3, but it seems the AR games disable the Guardian and the scanning process shown here is not limited by any borders drawn up earlier, you can just walk around until whatever limitation it has is reached. I have mapped my 75sqm apartment without issues, but I see some had issues

Throwing a message in a bottle here but trying right now my MQ3 that arrived today and if the headset seems to work well, I can't get to connect my phone to it. The app keep displaying "not connected" or "searching headset" without never finding anything. If anyone encountered this problem as well and solved it, it would really help. I can't seem to find anything on the internet yet.

Did it successfully connect to your wifi? Quest 3 has several patches out of the box it needs to do and atleast for me it wouldn’t complete the final steps until those updates were complete. It should show them in progress in the headset tho. Secondly is your Bluetooth definitely turned on?

Wifi and location were on as asked directly by the app. Bluetooth wasn't! I didn't it had to be switched on as the headset doesn't show on the device list. Thank you so much for you input, problem solved 💪

Scan the QR code on the box and then do “already connected to WiFi” and it’ll sync up! I had this issue for about an hour myself

Ok, If you are trying to use your whole house, like you can in first encounter, you HAVE to TURN OFF boundaries. This is in developers section of settings menu. If you do not have a developers account, search your favorite search engine for create meta quest developers account, then after you enable it, do as stated. Drop dead cabin and Espire MR modes will NOT work in a house like he shows if your boundaries are on. It will place objectives in places you scanned for room scale and you will leave the game when you cross the boundary yo get to them which is only able to give a small area in one room. I honestly wish you could play this outside in a large backyard etc but at least we have color passthrough/MR.

Turning off your boundaries does not work with MR. As soon as you do it, it kicks you out of MR and into VR, and MR apps wont load

@@willmosse3684 Depends on the game. With room scale, if I do not turn off boundaries, it places items in areas outside of my boundary. When I turn off boundary, I can walk around my entire house and play the games with MR. Have you even attempted to do this? If you were not successful then it is the one game you tested.

Hauntify does not work doing this in trying to figure out around this but it looks like you have to stand in the middle of your house and do a boundary that expands around the whole house to by pass this problem. They need to allow room scan to be enough and not require a drawn boundary. It should be either room scan or boundary our choice.

Since I got my Quest 3 a few days ago, I've done some amazing things with Figmin in passthrough, including putting a huge animated white tiger by our swimming pool, which terrified my husband when I showed it to him. And I also put a life-size police car in my mom's entrance hall, which really amazed her.

@@voodoodevr-en 1) Have a second quest for your English videos. 2) Change the language (if that requires reset, so be it). 3) Ignore my comment. 4) Permanently change to English, so that your non-english audience will not be able to read the text, but your voice would allow them to follow in the same way you suggest I do. 5) Make no change, and thank me for my feedback. 6) Create two of every video, in each language.

It's a very moot point that it's in a different language since he's narrating exactly what he's doing. If you have your own headset, you can still easily follow along. The buttons are the same, in the same placement, just in a different language. If anything @voodoodevr-en should be commended for his bilingual ability. His English is great.
