I took this same flight from LAX to CPH. Except it was on an SAS Douglas DC-7 with a refueling stop in Greenland. Still have vivid memories of the flight. (DC-7 = four engine prop, piston engines. And no entertainment screens on the seat backs 😆)

My first flight overseas was SAS from LAX to CPH with a stop in SEA on a Super DC-8 in 1969. Much more comfort on that plane in coach than on planes now.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I like you landed on the old runway 30, normally it's 04 or 22. Also great to hear the Swedish air hostess welcoming you to Copenhagen! It could even have been a Norwegian girl. On approaching Copenhagen from Malmø you must have had a brilliant view of the Øresund Bridge

Great video! I like the way you covered the shole trip: airport; lounge; aircraft; seating configuration; crew; meals. Personally, I've enjoyed all my flights with SAS (all in basic Economy class) --- though over the years, I've seen the way corporate economy measures have made an impact, especially in Economy. As but one example, Delta offers a choice of meals and also complimentary alcohol, even in their basic Economy, yet SAS doesn't. Still and all, your video reinforces my positive attitude toward SAS, and I thank you for sharing this with us.

Even long haul international flights?
@willyboy3581 Жыл бұрын
@@jakewatson2660 Hi, Jake: Delta's basic Economy on long-haul international flights (last flown in 2019, U.S.-Paris/return) offered a choice of meals and complimentary alcohol. SAS's basic Economy on long-haul international flights (last flown in 2016, U.S.-Copenhagen/return) offered just the one selection, and there was a charge for any alcoholic beverages. (Please keep in mind the dates; these days, in-flight services/amenities can come and go - usually go - with the blink of an eye.)

The lack of meal choices still surprises me. I wonder when/if this will change. Glad to hear you have had good experience with SAS crews. Last time I flew SAS long haul was a year ago, and up until then I only had mediocre crews at best. Makes sense, since Scandinavia is not known for being overly friendly on the surface or service minded. But I'm clad you had a better experience. Maybe they changed lately!

OMG.... are you serious? 10 seats abreast on this A 350 airplane with nearly no legroom. How poor is that!!? Honestly, I don't need or expect alcoholic beverages to be on offer in general. However, one free Baileys with your coffee e.g. or wine for dinner is something you may at least expect on long haul flights without demanding too much. Same on seat comfort! We mostly fly KLM, JAL or Delta (happy with!) and would not if they came close to what you had on SAS. Good review, thanks for sharing! 👍
