Hi "Fly Guy". You traveled on one of the busiest days of the year. You would probably have had a better experience if you traveled from Oslo or Copenhagen as Arlanda is constantly being renovated. There is better space in the terminal and in the lounges. This ticket also includes one large cabin bag, 2 x 23 kg checked bags, lounge access, fast track security control and priority boarding. You also get free catering including alcohol on board. The luggage is also first on the conveyor belt on arrival. Don't forget that the bonus points you earn on a SAS plus travel really count. And the best thing is that the price for the plus is not much more expensive than a normal ticket and you get a lot of value for money here. Cannot be compared with the price for business on e.g. Lufthansa. No change in SAS plus after the pandemic. For us who live in the Nordics, SAS is not an exclusive airline but an absolutely necessary means of transport for traveling in the Nordics, where we have enormous distances with over 2 hours' flights from north to south. But hey - there are plenty of flights with Ryanair, Wizzair and Norwegian if you want to save money on a trip to London. Or BA if it's worth it.

Thank you for the information, as I said in the review it was my take on that particular flight. I am looking to fly SAS long haul to see what that is like and really want to fly through Arlanda again as it will look smart when all the renovations have been completed.

@@GavTheFlyGuy🙂You were also flying with SAS Ireland and not "normal" SAS. Some say this is different. I would try Copenhagen - it's main SAS hub. If you wanna go excotic try northern Norway with SAS, Tromsø or Svalbard 🙂 Kirkenes where you can look over to Russia is also cool.

@@PettersenLars I do like the idea of trying out Tromso 👍🏼
@PettersenLars6 ай бұрын
@@GavTheFlyGuy At the moment there is no night in Tromsø - sun is up 24hours - so excotic for sure. Also great in the winter if you want to see the northern lights. You can fly direct to Tromsø from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gdansk, Hamburg, Helsinki, Copenhagen, London, Paris, Rovaniemi, Stockholm, Stuttgart , Wienna and Zurich from abroad. Domesti from Alta, Andøya, Bergen, Berlevåg, Bodø, Hammerfest, Harstad/Narvik, Hasvik, Honningsvåg, Kirkenes, Lakselv, Longyearbyen (Svalbard), Oslo, Stokmarknes, Sørkjosen, Trondhiem and Vadsø.

Broooo you need to fly out of Cph they have the flagship sas lounge
@GavTheFlyGuy5 ай бұрын
I do, your right, it’s definitely in the plans. Do want to experience their long haul.. will try coincide it with that one

The SAS lounge in CPH is sadly no better. In my opinion the worst lounge in CPH for a very long time.

Sadly SAS are nothing more than a low-cost airline on intra-European flights these days. They are trying to compete with Norwegian and Ryanair who have driven down prices and customer expectations in Scandinavia. As a Star Alliance status holder I'm glad to see them leaving to join SkyTeam.
@GavTheFlyGuy6 ай бұрын
I was totally gob-smacked by it, I couldn't have been more wrong about an airline if I had tried, the product and my perception of them were miles apart. Them leaving Star Alliance probably wont be a loss to many of the members, but the addition of ITA could be epic news.

I now live in denmark, BA tons better as I travel to London one every two weeks though going with SAS to get gold just for fast track

It did look pretty ordinary
@GavTheFlyGuy4 ай бұрын
Not the best, but maybe my expectations were higher, I still want to fly long haul with them.
@rod_at_adelaide57664 ай бұрын
@@GavTheFlyGuy Maybe, but I can think of many other airlines that would be better flying long haul. I fly regularly from Australia to Europe and find Asian and Middle East carriers offer so much better value and service, I don't fly Qantas any more as there service is terrible unfortunately.
@GavTheFlyGuy4 ай бұрын
@@rod_at_adelaide5766 Yep, there are a fair few that would better SAS for a long haul product. I would still like to give them a go however, to see the contrast in service to their short-haul. If there is any ! will certainly be one to try. 😃

Shame they switched from the world best alliance to the worst

Yep now part of sky team because of Air France-KLMs major investment in them, this has allowed them to continue, otherwise I think SAS would have been gone.

I Fly SAS Pluss A lot And IS NOT BUSINESS CLASS
@GavTheFlyGuy6 ай бұрын
Indeed it is not, the most ‘premium’ of their short-haul cabins and it is defo a premium economy at best.
