I love the display of all the gorgeous flowers, and that the service is small and intimate.
@disneydip3 жыл бұрын
The way the flowers were arranged was a final surprise for the Queen from Prince Henrik. It reflects back to a poem read at their wedding; it talk about a man from a foreign land going to live in a place with many beautiful gardens, but lovliest of all was "the girl." Which---to make a short story long, is why the floral tributes were on the floor to resemble a garden.

J’aime bcp votre peuple ! Sincères condoléances !

There was a part of the service where they spoke about his background. The information below is from the Danish monarchy website: *Educational background* Prince Henrik spent his first five years in Vietnam, then known as French Indo-China, where his father was in charge of family interests in industrial enterprises, etc. founded by his grandfather at the turn of the century. In 1939, the family returned to the family residence, le Cayrou, in Cahors. Having received instruction at home until 1947, Prince Henrik subsequently studied at the Jesuit boarding school in Bordeaux. In the period 1948-1950, Prince Henrik attended upper secondary school in Cahors. The Prince returned to Hanoi in 1950 and graduated from the French upper secondary school in Hanoi in 1952. In the period 1952- 1957, Prince Henrik studied law and political science at the Sorbonne, Paris, while simultaneously studying Chinese and Vietnamese at École Nationale des Langues Orientales. Having studied Oriental languages in Hong Kong in 1957, Prince Henrik subsequently studied in Saigon in 1958. *Business background* Prince Henrik had a background in the diplomatic service. In 1962, The Prince worked within the Asia Department of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and from 1963 to 1967, he was a Secretary to the French Embassy in London. *Relation to the Defence* Prince Henrik performed his military service with the infantry in Algeria in the period 1959-1962. The Prince held the honorary rank of General and Admiral in the Danish Defence. *Language* The mother tongue of Prince Henrik was French, but he quickly learned Danish after moving to Denmark. In addition, Prince Henrik spoke English, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

@@lynettecrilly5805 too soon to call. If he makes it past a year and a day of the anniversary of his ascension, let alone make it to the Coronation, he would already be doing much better than his Grand-Uncle, Edward VIII. I have a feeling once the Coronation is done, most of his haters will shut up. Whilst being officially crowned is not and as far as I know, never has been legally required to officially be King or Queen but in the eyes of many, once the Archbishop of Canterbury does their thing, and anoints the new monarch to their posiition, it's past the point of no return. Once that threshold is crossed, there is no turning back. He would then be King in the eyes of the law, God/Church of England, and the people. Ergo, a done deal with temporal and spiritual points covered.

The 1st 2 hours of the video were unnecessary (imo), but I thought the procession into the church was very dignified and original (especially for the standards of royalty). I’ve always admired the democratic spirit of the Danish royals. Also, the final few moments where it appears that The Queen was instructing her family to come closer and file around her was very touching (though I’m sure such a thing would likely never happen in the protocol-driven British royal family).
