I was so impressed by Sergie's review of this item . . . I ordered a Scangauge for my YUGO. Most of the factory gauges quit working when the car passed the 90 day , 500 Km warranty.

Sergie, Great tool you bought. My Century has the Freightliner Information Center that monitors fuel consumption, plus I have Cummins Road relay. I really like the Road Relay. I set the target mpg on the FL for the driver (7mpg) and than he can watch to see how he is doing according to that. The road relay does the instant MPG, HP, ad all the gauges. I really like the ability to read the codes, an clear them. That is a great feature of the scan gauge you got, can read your codes for a check engine light, and go on line and read what to do. According to the owners manual, it only reads the code, but no description. But tat is cool, can get on line easy, or just call me. Great investment !

As a resident Iowan, I'm going out first thing tomorrow and put one of those Scangauges on my snowblower. I'm hoping I can use less gas to throw snow further...LOL....great video Sergie. I hope the new gadget works out for you.

Sergie....you got me to thinking that this, or one like it, would be great for my camper tow vehicle. At the suggestion of a long time travel trailer camper, I should monitor my automatic transmission temperature to avoid any unexpected warning light issues (head them off early).The plus side is that I can pull up all kinds of analytical info to keep on top of the vehicles condition and mileage. Forget about my "snowblower" comment...this puppy is going on the 2001 Tahoe....THANKS

Dale Braun yep, i'm having lots of fun with this gauge. when i'm driving i find INSTANT HORSEPOWER reading is useful for fuel economy (the lower the better!) and if I idle i change that part of the screen to GALLONS PER HOUR. i tried to get FUEL PRESSURE gauge and sent all required data from my ECM to Linear Logic but they wrote back saying neither the 'fuel pressure' nor the 'exhaust manifold temperature' gauges were available for my CAT C15 engine :( those would be really useful.

I have the exact same gauge on my F250.(different connector obviously) I absolutely love the info it can provide and that it also reads and clears any codes that may come up. I have been using it for just over two months now but have yet to convince my foot to adjust my habits to gain any better fuel millage. I mainly wanted it for the summer months when I am pulling my 24 foot fifth wheel and my 16 foot boat around Northern Alberta. (I know how much you love that area... HA!) Great review!

Those are the same 4 gauges I use. The AVG gauge went crazy after about an hour. There is an option to select which bus ScanGauge will read from and the default setting is Both. If you change this setting to only one bus the problem is fixed.

The makers should pay you a commission. I bought 2 of them from amazon for 160.00/each. One for my 2000 Volvo WG64. I have trouble with the gauges sometimes they work sometimes they don't. The second will be used for my F150 just for the fun of having it.

It will be interesting to compare the scan guage MPG Avg reading to your hand calculated results to check accuracy. I wonder what other ECM functions can be custom set up and downloaded into the Scan Guage, you may be able to obtain important data such as fuel pressure, fuel air ratio etc... and other info to maintain engine health/function monitoring. They should be able to program in all your sensor readings quite easily....anything that is on the data bus... if it has enough capacity it would be a big savings over the cat software, connector ripoff prices..

the trucks I have drove always have at least 50 gallons in tank on empty. I used to get scared on empty until one day I took a broom handle and stuck it in my tanks to gauge them and still had plenty of fuel.

I have an ultra guage. In my opinion the better guage for automotive use. Yku can display up to eight guages at once

madflyer1093 That wouldn't work for his truck. He has a 9 pin connector as shown in the video that is j1708 or j1939 protocol. Although the Ultra gauge looks like a great product, it is an obd2 scanner with a real time display, most obd2 scanners do not have the ability to decipher heavy truck code unless specified.

Just bought one will let you know, even if it is not very accurate it will tell you when you are doing better on MPG will check against real numbers most will be out a bit.

if you have an 07 feightliner century with the port next to the drivers seat dont waste your money on this scangauge as the cord is to short to reach the dash.

That has been most interesting - I wonder just how much fuel it burns when you idle it overnight and you are obviously not driving? It will sicken the costs per journey quite significantly I imagine.

some sources claim you burn 1 gal per hour when idling but at 600 RPM the Scangauge only showed the rate of 0.25 gallons per hour. i don't know how that rate changes when you increase the RPM or when it's -40 outside.

thats not the one kevin rutherford sells. he sells scangauge {KR}. the difference being rolling mpg where it averages every 8 seconds instead of instant

you only need this gauge if your truck doesn't have the 'driver information display'. my friend drives a 2007 volvo and he can see a lot of the data i'm getting with this scangauge. but i bet he cannot get 'instant horserpower' and 'air intake temperature' ;) my 2004 international 9400 has no driver's info display, so this gadget basically turns my truck into a volvo for only 200 bucks.

Does anyone know if this gauge picks up the exhaust gas temperature? Doesn't the computer now de-fuel somewhat if the EGTs get too high? Then the computer should convert those impulses to an EGT reading for the Scanguage right?

Массовое сознание демонстрирует какую-то необъяснимую смесь рецидива имперского мышления с комплексом ущемленного в правах победителя. При этом о последствиях возможной аннексии Крыма никто старается не задумываться, считая, что украинцы каким-то необъяснимым образом простят раздел своей страны и все равно останутся братьями. А последствия уже есть, хотя, слава богу, кровь в Крыму не пролилась и, будем надеяться, не прольется, и в российские дома не придут цинковые гробы. Серьезный урон Россия уже понесла на внешнеполитическом направлении: лидеры стран "большой восьмерки" отказались ехать на летний саммит в Сочи и ведут речь об исключении России из G8, введены санкции против российских чиновников, существует угроза введения экономических санкций. Ведь даже самые близкие партнеры России по Таможенному союзу - Казахстан и Беларусь - не выразили прямой поддержки ее действий, а, напротив, заявили о заинтересованности в сохранении территориальной целостности Украины. Да и у самого Таможенного союза, по мнению аналитиков, наступают не лучшие времена: теперь оказывается под вопросом вступление в него новых членов, прежде всего Армении. А про создание зон свободной торговли между ТС и другими странами вообще можно забыть. К примеру, Новая Зеландия уже официально заявила о выходе из этого проекта. Но самым глобальным образом последствия крымских событий могут сказаться на будущем мироустройстве. Ведь неслучайно председатель Меджлиса крымскотатарского народа Рефат Чубаров заявил: "Мы приблизились к обрушению мирового порядка, который держится на силе международных договоров, многосторонних и двусторонних. И кто знает, не использует ли в будущем Китай российское ноу-хау по защите русскоговорящего населения, который вполне может решить защитить китайскоязычное населения в Сибири и на Дальнем Востоке - его уже и сейчас там немало. В социальных сетях гуляет такая шутка: "Даже Гитлеру в 45-м не могло присниться, что Германия будет уговаривать Россию не нападать на Украину". Думается, что из происходящего нужно сделать свои выводы и белорусам. Царящие сейчас в России настроения иногда выливаются в причудливые формы. Вот лишь некоторые заголовки одного из российских информагентств: "В Белоруссии открывается первый бар, дискриминирующий русскоязычных", "Правительство Белоруссии рассматривает законопроект об уничтожении русскоязычной топонимики". Милитаристские настроения очень заразны. Конечно, не все россияне хотят войны. Есть и те, кто выходит на акции протеста. Но плакаты "Нет войне!" сейчас в России вне закона, за такие лозунги выносятся административные приговоры. Да и выходит на такие акции не больше сотни человек. Гораздо больше людей собирает концерт у стен Кремля под девизом "За присоединение Крыма". Москва, БЕЛТА.
