The exhaust brake works by closing off the exhaust path from the engine. The retarder is like an oil pump on the gearbox.

Yes, higher RPM = more exhaust brake. I guess the blue dot is to remind you to use the higher part of the RPM gauge for exhaust braking.

Can you tell me, isn't the exhaust brake more effective in higher RPMs, in this case 2300-2400rpm should be more effective than 2000? Or is it same strength on the bluetape?

The newer without clutch pedal shifts more intelligent but I miss the pedal when doing precision work.

Is the exhaust brake a lever on the wheel ? Or am I confusing Exhaust brake with Retarder ? Retarder is like a Gearbox driven-brake if I remember correctly ?

+Juppie902 The exhaust brake is activated when braking, retarder can be activated with the right lever on the wheel. The retarder is a hydraulic brake on the drivetrain.

amir93lagend, the differences between the follwing : Exhaust Brake - Uses eletronically operated valve to block off the Exhaust system and turning it into a compressor. Retards engine power by holding the compression in the engine by slowing down the rotation of the CRANKSHAFT which in turns reduces vehicle and engine speed. When activated, it closes and restricts the Exhaust flow by retaining it in the combustion cylinder causing the performance piston to force the compression into the Exhaust Brakewhich in turns absorbs the energy of the inertia.Exhaust Brakes are also used to prevent the service brakes from overheating on downhill which can causes brake fade and failure. Retarder - Located at the driven axle and works similiarily to the Exhaust Brake but different operation purposes
