It's because whoever made this doesn't understand the point of the original. Scanners plays on the fear of what it would be like.to have your consciousness invaded by another. Scanners is unique because it has an explanation on how telepathy works. Its less charles xavier and more body horror .This is just super powers with none of the horror

@@MM-hf6om Very good points!! It was a unique Psychological Body Horror movie. The IP had so much potential. Plus the casting with Michael Ironside was inspired. Best to pretend this sequel never existed.
